For many years now, nearly 100 households on both sides of Cao Thang Street (Residential Group 4, Tay Son Town, Huong Son District, Ha Tinh) have been in dire straits because the road has been severely damaged but has not been upgraded or repaired.
Cao Thang Street is more than 1 km long, with about 100 households living on both sides and 1 operating business.
Cao Thang Road is over 1 km long, connecting Trung Tam Road (TDP 4) through the headquarters of Thai Phat Dat Joint Stock Company, ending at the forest area of TDP 4, with scattered households. After many years of use, without investment in upgrading or repairing, the entire road has now been severely damaged, causing many difficulties for traffic, especially for nearly 100 households living on both sides of the road.
In the dry season, Cao Thang Street is covered in dust (left photo) and in the rainy season it is muddy and degraded (right photo).
Ms. Le Thi Thu (born in 1977, a resident living on Cao Thang Street) was upset: “Our family has lived here for nearly 20 years but we often have to endure the dust in the summer and the flooding and mud in the winter. At many meetings with voters, we have repeatedly petitioned the authorities at all levels to upgrade and repair the road to reduce people's suffering, but so far nothing has been resolved.”
The road surface is peeling, with exposed gravel causing danger to road users.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Bao (born in 1960), the reason is that the road has been invested in for many years but has not been maintained. Meanwhile, this route often has container trucks with heavy loads entering and exiting to import goods from businesses, causing the road to be overloaded.
Every day, the road surface is "strained" by heavy trucks passing by.
In the area where Thai Phat Dat Joint Stock Company is located, Cao Thang road surface is peeling off in many places, severely degraded, and full of "buffalo potholes" and "elephant potholes". On hot days, the area is full of dust, but just a little rain makes it muddy, making it difficult for vehicles to travel, especially for households living in the area.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tan - Head of Group 4, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Tay Son town said: "Group 4 currently has 228 households with more than 590 people, but nearly 100 households live on both sides of Cao Thang road. Almost every year we mobilize people to contribute money to hire trucks to carry dirt and rocks to "patch" but the road is so damaged that no amount of money can fill it. In the summer, people face a situation of blinding dust, in the winter they have to wade through the water, it's miserable."
Cao Thang Street, the section passing through Thai Phat Dat Joint Stock Company headquarters, is degraded and the road surface is peeling.
Cao Thang Street is the worst remaining road in Tay Son town. The investment in building this road requires a large amount of capital, exceeding the local budget. We hope that the district will soon pay attention to investing and upgrading the road to ensure stable life for 100 households and contribute to helping the locality build a civilized urban area.
