TPO - According to data from the enrollment plan and the "three public" reports of universities to the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2023, there will be 10 higher education institutions with revenue of over 1,000 billion VND/year, including 6 public institutions and 4 private institutions.

Among the 10 educational institutions with revenue of thousands of billions, FPT University is at the top with 2,918 billion VND.

Next is Hanoi University of Science and Technology with 2,137 billion VND. Third place is Van Lang University. Although the total revenue in 2023 has not been made public, the school's total revenue in 2022 has reached 1,758 billion VND.

Ranked fourth and fifth respectively are Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (1,679 billion VND) and Nguyen Tat Thanh University (1,476 billion VND).

Compared to the 2022 revenue report, this list has many fluctuations in terms of quantity, revenue and ranking order.

Specifically, in 2022, FPT University ranked third with a revenue of less than 1,300 billion VND, but in 2023 it jumped to nearly 3,000 billion VND and topped the rankings.

Also rising strongly is Hanoi University of Science and Technology, ranked seventh in 2022 with revenue of VND 1,070 billion, rising to second in 2023 with revenue of VND 2,137 billion. National Economics University rose from ninth to sixth place... Notably, for the first time, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry is on this list.

The first to fall in rank is Can Tho University, which was "kicked" out of the top with revenue of over a thousand billion VND. In 2022, Can Tho University achieved revenue of 1,090 billion VND, but by 2023 it had dropped to more than 950 billion.

Next is Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, which dropped from second place to fourth. Also dropping in rank compared to 2022 are Nguyen Tat Thanh University (from fourth to fifth place), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (from fifth to seventh place)...

Revenue of higher education institutions comes from four sources: budget; tuition and fees; scientific research and technology transfer; other legal sources (training cooperation services, sponsorship from businesses, publishers, affiliated businesses, etc.). Notably, tuition is the largest source of revenue for universities, especially non-public schools.
