Currently, there are at least more than 30 public universities recruiting students in 2025, many of which are top schools in the Southern region.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education announces the schedule for receiving applications for early admission in 2025 from April 1 to May 30, including direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and priority admission for candidates from high schools with signed cooperation agreements.
In addition, the school will recruit students according to the general schedule of the Ministry of Education and Training with 3 methods: recruiting based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam, according to the subject combinations of each major; recruiting based on high school transcripts for candidates graduating in 2025, according to the average score of the 6-semester transcript of each subject according to the combination (3 subjects); recruiting based on the results of the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam.
The school also announced that it will hold aptitude tests to enroll students in four majors: fashion design, graphic design, architecture, and interior architecture. The application period for aptitude tests is from April 1 to May 30.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Law plans to enroll 4,000 students (an increase of nearly 800 compared to 2024). The school will open new majors in Banking and Finance and International Business.
The school reserves 55% to consider high school graduation exam scores. In addition, the school recruits directly, considers direct admission, and prioritizes admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The school considers admission to 4 groups, including: international school students; those with foreign language certificates or SAT scores; those from high schools on the priority list of Ho Chi Minh City National University; those who take the V-SAT exam. Compared to previous years, the V-SAT entrance exam scores are used for the first time.

The University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University) no longer considers admission based on the combination of A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry) and D07 (Math, Chemistry, English). The school uses two traditional combinations of A01 (Math, Physics, English), D01 (Math, English, Literature), and adds two new combinations of Math, English, Informatics and Math, English, Economic and Legal Education.
Regarding admission methods, the school plans to use three main methods by 2025, including: direct admission and priority direct admission (up to 20% of the target), considering capacity assessment test scores (up to 40-60%) and high school graduation exam scores (up to 30-50%).
Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities plans to maintain stable admission methods as last year. Accordingly, the school will consider admissions based on many methods, mainly from the results of the high school graduation exam and the capacity assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University. This is to avoid disruptions that may affect the registration of candidates for admission to the school next year.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Science plans to enroll students in 3 ways. Method 1 is direct admission and priority admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, Ho Chi Minh City National University, combining international language certificates with high school academic results. Method 2 is admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam. Method 3 is admission based on the results of the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam.
The school is enrolling its first class of educational technology students with a target of about 70 students. In addition, the school is also building other interdisciplinary majors such as integrated science or land economics.

The rest, the school plans to consider using the capacity assessment scores of Ho Chi Minh City National University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.
Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine has adjusted the enrollment quota for some majors compared to 2024, including Pharmacy (up 30%), Traditional Medicine (up 20%) and Nursing (up 10%). The remaining majors will maintain the same enrollment quota.
Regarding admission methods, the school implements 6 admission methods, including: using high school graduation exam results; direct admission according to the regulations of the admission regulations; using the results of the capacity assessment test, thinking assessment organized by other units for admission; using only international certificates for admission; combining high school graduation exam results with international certificates for admission; using other methods.
The University of Finance and Marketing has opened new majors in Commercial Law and Software Engineering. The school's target is 4,350 (an increase of 50 compared to 2024). Admission methods remain stable as last year.
The school plans to focus on two main subjects: Math and Literature. The school's admission combinations will support candidates, taking from a total of 9 subjects that are appropriate to the subjects that students have chosen for the high school graduation exam.
