Ministry of Planning and Investment seeks comments on draft Circular regulating statistical classification by economic type

(MPI) - The Ministry of Planning and Investment is seeking comments on a draft Circular regulating statistical classification by economic type.

Accordingly, the draft Circular regulating statistical classification by economic type is issued for use in state statistical activities to classify economic units of the same nature into corresponding economic types.

An economic unit is classified into a corresponding economic type based on the following criteria in order of priority: current legal regulations; equity ratio; and specific characteristics of each economic type.

Statistical classification by economic type includes the list and classification content, specifically, first: the statistical classification list by economic type includes 02 levels: Level 1 includes 04 economic types coded from 1 to 4 respectively (state economic type; collective economic type; private economic type; economic type with foreign investment capital).

Level 2 includes 17 economic types; each type is coded with two digits according to the corresponding level 1.

Second, the content of statistical classification by economic type stipulates: economic units are identified in the economic type; economic units are excluded from this economic type but are identified in another economic type.
