On the afternoon of September 5, the Ministry of Health sent an urgent dispatch to the Departments of Health of provinces and cities in the Northern and Central regions and units under the Ministry of Health regarding proactively deploying medical work to respond to storm No. 3 and floods.
Accordingly, to proactively respond to storm No. 3 and the flood situation, the Ministry of Health requests the health departments of provinces and cities in the Northern and Central regions and affiliated medical units to urgently and strictly implement the directives of the Prime Minister; the National Civil Defense Steering Committee; the local Civil Defense Command Committees and the Ministry of Health on proactively responding to storms and floods, ensuring safety for people.
In particular, the Ministry of Health requires medical units to organize professional and emergency duty 24/7, be ready to receive and provide emergency care for victims caused by storms, floods, and heavy rains, and not interrupt emergency care and treatment for people; ensure adequate supply of essential medicines for people, and promptly replenish reserves of medicines, chemicals, and supplies for disaster prevention and search and rescue.
Implement plans to protect medical facilities in areas at risk of being affected by floods; proactively evacuate medical facilities in low-lying areas at risk of flooding, flash floods, landslides. Organize environmental sanitation, prevent epidemics, ensure food safety, and stabilize medical facilities after storms.
