The Government Office has just issued a document conveying the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long on handling information reported by the press, related to the draft Regulations on enrollment in junior high schools and high schools.
Specifically, recently the press has reported information related to the draft Regulations on Admissions to Secondary and High Schools. Accordingly, the draft Regulations on Admissions to Secondary and High Schools proposes that the 10th grade exam will include 3 subjects including Math, Literature and a third subject or a combined exam selected by the Department of Education and Training, the higher education institution with a high school and announced before March 31 every year.

Consider regulating the announcement time for early exams to create favorable conditions for schools and students to proactively plan appropriate and effective teaching, learning and review.
Previously, on October 21, the Ministry of Education and Training announced a draft Circular promulgating the Regulations on Secondary School and High School Admissions and widely solicited public opinions on this content. According to the draft, there are 3 methods of admission to grade 10 of high school: entrance exam, admission review or a combination of entrance exam and admission review.
The selection of admission methods is under the authority of the locality. The Department of Education and Training advises the People's Committee of the province/city directly under the Central Government to approve and select the method.
Regarding the organization of entrance exams, to ensure consistency and ensure the viewpoint of a light and inexpensive exam, the draft Regulations generally stipulate the implementation of 3 exam subjects, including Math, Literature and a third exam subject or a combined exam selected by the Department of Education and Training, higher education institutions with high schools and announced before March 31 every year.
The third subject is selected from among the subjects assessed by scores in the general education program at the secondary level. The selection of the third subject has changed over the years to achieve the goal of comprehensive education in the basic education stage.
