Yen Khanh opens training course to foster Cheo singing and improve skills in using traditional musical instruments in 2023

On the morning of June 8, at the Cultural House of Khanh Hai commune, the Department of Culture and Information of Yen Khanh district coordinated with the Provincial Cultural Center to organize the opening of a training course to foster the art of Cheo singing and improve the skills of using traditional musical instruments for clubs in the district in 2023.

Currently, Yen Khanh district has 64 Cheo singing clubs, 2 Xam singing clubs and 2 folk drum dancing clubs. The whole district has 3 excellent artists and 1 folk artist.

Implementing the Project to build cultural products to promote the cultural and historical values of Hoa Lu Ancient Capital and maintain, develop and preserve the art of Cheo singing, Xam singing, folk drum dancing... Yen Khanh district coordinated with the Provincial Cultural Center to organize training courses on Cheo singing art and improve the use of traditional musical instruments for art nuclei and musicians participating in Cheo singing clubs in communes, towns, schools... in the district.

The training course will take place over 10 days (June 8-18), with nearly 140 students. Students will be directly instructed by a team of teachers who are People's Artists, Meritorious Artists, Folk Artists, Choreographers and Experienced Instrumental Musicians.

The purpose of the class is to help students learn more about ancient Cheo melodies, new melodies praising the Party, Uncle Ho, the homeland, the country, and the innovation of the homeland, helping students when returning to their localities to be the core nuclei to teach and widely spread to the public in a practical and effective way.

The training course also contributes to restoring, preserving and promoting traditional artistic values in the district. Thereby, it continuously improves the quality of activities of traditional clubs in communes and schools, thereby having many core members participate in competitions organized by the province, at the same time introducing cultural products such as Cheo singing, Xam singing, and folk Drum dancing of the district to the public in the province and outside the province.
