iPhone jailbreak using wireless chip card appears

The iPhone 15 series was released on September 22. The US version still does not have a physical SIM tray like the iPhone 14 series, using eSIM entirely. However, just a month later, on the social network Weibo (China), cards were sold to help unlock locked iPhones without having to cut into the hardware.

This card connects to the locked iPhone via a wireless connection, users only need to add a SIM card from the network they are using to make a connection that requires a mobile subscriber number (calling, texting, accessing mobile data) like the international version (not locked). Those who sell this device say that thanks to the ability to unlock wirelessly, users do not need to cut the frame to "modify" the physical SIM tray like before, but still have to open it to insert the chip into the mainboard (motherboard).

The biggest drawback of this method is that the wireless connection range is limited, so the user will have to keep the SIM card near the device at all times. To solve this problem, the device owner can use a case with a card holder, but it is quite bulky because the device is thick.

Locked iPhones have long been the choice of a group of users in Vietnam who want to experience the device but are not financially abundant, because this device is often priced several million to tens of millions of VND cheaper than the international version or genuine distribution. Most locked iPhones brought to Vietnam are from the US - a market that in the past 2 years has used devices without a physical SIM tray, causing difficulties for traders. Therefore, this year, the iPhone 15 series lock has been coming in quite a few drops, most stores have brought them back to test customer reactions.

According to a technology expert, the new iPhone unlock card still uses a dedicated SIM card so that the device can receive international network signals, but instead of being installed on the card, the SIM card will be attached to the device's motherboard, from there connecting to the physical SIM card on the outside of the device (located on the card).

This method is still new and not many service providers have imported it to Vietnam, so it is not yet possible to evaluate the stability of the solution. However, intervening with hardware or software on the device without the permission of the manufacturer or network operator is still illegal, not to mention it can cause instability and lack of security for the device as well as user data.

A representative of a phone repair system in Vietnam recommends that users should carefully study the use of jailbroken iPhones, because these products often have poor signal quality and consume more battery (because they need to provide more power to maintain the SIM system working). Adding an additional card also reduces the aesthetics of the device and will cause trouble if this card is lost during use.
