Strictly handle cases of posting false information about rain and flood situation

In Hai Duong, from the afternoon of September 10 until now, the police of units and localities in the province continued to summon 10 more Facebook account holders with permanent residence in Cam Giang, Thanh Mien, Nam Sach districts, Kinh Mon town and Hai Duong city for posting and sharing false information about the flood situation. Up to now, Hai Duong has discovered and handled 15 cases of posting false information about the flood situation.

Hai Duong Provincial Police said that professional units always check cyberspace, promptly detect and strictly handle organizations and individuals who provide inaccurate information, affecting the work of preventing and fighting natural disasters, storms and floods; at the same time, they advise people to be alert to information on social networks; know how to filter information, need to follow official information on websites and official newspapers of state agencies and organizations; do not share information online without accurate verification.

Any act of posting or sharing fake or untrue information about natural disasters and floods will be detected, investigated and strictly handled according to the law.

Previously, in Lao Cai, on the evening of September 10, Bao Nhai Commune Police, Bac Ha District, summoned a subject who used a Facebook account to post false information about the collapse of the Coc Ly hydropower dam, causing panic among the people during the complicated flood season in the area. Currently, Bao Nhai Commune Police are preparing a case file and handling it according to the law.
