The new Mitsubishi XRT concept is a pre-production version of the 6th generation Triton pickup truck, expected to be officially launched in July this year. The XRT concept has a much more aggressive design compared to the current generation Triton.

The car still has the Dynamic Shield design language, but is more angular than the current Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck . The concept does not have headlights but only high-mounted LED daytime running lights.

In the middle of the front of the car is a wider radiator grille with a new honeycomb mesh. Above the radiator grille is also a raised "Mitsubishi" sticker.

Most likely, the commercial Triton will still keep the low-mounted headlights design under the bumper. The side and rear design still have many similarities to the current generation Mitsubishi Triton.

According to some sources, the new Mitsubishi Triton 2024 will be equipped with a diesel engine coded 4N16 with 4 cylinders, DOHC, 16 valves, turbocharged, 2.4L capacity. In addition, in the future, Triton will also be supplemented with a pure electric variant.

The current Mitsubishi Triton model is a mid-life upgrade (facelift) of the 5th generation Triton, launched in Vietnam since the end of 2019. This model is currently distributed in Vietnam with 3 versions, with prices ranging from 650 - 905 million VND.

In 2022, Triton was the second best-selling model in the pickup truck segment with sales of 4,789 vehicles, ranking above Mazda BT-50 (758 vehicles) and Isuzu D-Max (757 vehicles) but below Ford Ranger with 16,477 vehicles.
