Việt Nam•14/09/2024
The 6th generation Mitsubishi Triton All New 2024 has just been officially launched in Vietnam, marking a breakthrough in chassis design, suspension system and performance with engine improvements. In particular, the car is equipped with a series of advanced driving assistance technologies, helping drivers to be safer when traveling on all roads. Two-time Dakar Rally champion in 2002 and 2003, Hiroshi Masuoka appeared on stage with the 6th generation Triton launched on September 11, 2024. After an impressive introduction, he and reporters experienced off-roading with the 2024 Triton in Dong Mo, Ba Vi, Hanoi. The racer was born in 1960 and is now 64 years old, but he still performs stunts that demonstrate the class and professionalism of someone who has won the most difficult race on the planet, the Dakar Rally, twice in a row.
He said: ''I always feel confident when I have a great car like Triton in my hands. This model has now been significantly improved, making off-road driving as easy as driving in the city. The front suspension has increased diameter to make the jumps smoother, the rear suspension is sturdy to help me feel secure when turning. Besides the new chassis platform is lighter, more rigid... I feel the new generation is much more agile, flexible and solid than before, you should try it''.
The all-new 6th generation Triton is 5,360 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,815 mm high, with a wheelbase increased to 3,130 mm, making the interior space of the car cabin more spacious than the previous generation. Mitsubishi Triton stands out with an approach angle of 30.4 degrees, a departure angle of 22.8 degrees and a ground clearance of 228 mm, which is ideal for challenging off-road trips. With a turning radius of only 6.2 m, the car is not only powerful on rough terrain but also flexible in crowded cities.
The completely new chassis system has been thoroughly upgraded with larger dimensions and the use of lightweight super-strength steel, making the Triton both sturdy and minimizing noise and vibration from the road surface. The front suspension system has been upgraded with forks with a 2mm larger diameter and a 20mm increase in fork travel compared to the previous generation. Combined with the rear suspension system with shock absorbers and optimized leaf springs, it provides smooth operation when driving in the city, and durable and sturdy when operating in difficult road conditions. Triton's famous Super Select 4WD-II drive system is still maintained, but now even more powerful with seven driving modes, including: Highway, Economy, Snow, Gravel, Mud, Sand and Rock. Having many driving mode options, helps users feel confident when facing off-road roads. Most notable is the electronic center differential lock feature, one of Mitsubishi's special weapons, and the only one of Triton in the pickup segment in Vietnam. According to the story of the racer who won the Darka Rally twice, Hiroshi Masuoka, "It was the special weapon called the center differential lock that helped me win the world's toughest race in 2002-2003. It's great that it has been applied on Triton, Pajero Sport... " The highest-end version of the Triton Athlete is also equipped with an electric power steering system, providing a light and precise driving feel. The Japanese automaker shared that the number of steering wheel rotations is only 3.3 turns, combined with the smallest turning radius in the segment, making driving in alleys or crowded streets in big cities in Vietnam extremely easy. The power of the Triton comes from a 2.4L MIVEC Bi-Turbo Diesel engine, producing 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 470 Nm, with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Twin-turbo technology not only makes the engine powerful and smooth, but also increases response, minimizes acceleration lag, providing an emotional driving experience when going on off-road roads. Currently, twin-turbo technology is available on the engines of competitors such as the Ford Ranger Wildtrak and Nissan Navara Pro4x. In addition, the 6th generation Triton is also equipped with a series of advanced safety technologies in the Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing (MMSS) package:
Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) System
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
Lane Departure Warning System (LDW)
Automatic Headlight System (AHB)
Blind Spot Warning and Lane Change Assist (BSW & LCA)

In addition, the car is also equipped with a number of typical safety features such as:
7 airbags
