On the afternoon of May 21, speaking with VietNamNet reporters , the leader of the Inspection Department, Vietnam Register provided some information related to the Mercedes-Benz C250 Exclusive being rejected for inspection because the original grille (radiator grille) did not have an image on the system.
According to the Inspection Department, the Mercedes-Benz C250 Exclusive was rejected for inspection possibly because the inspector confused between different car models.
It is known that the Department has also requested the 50-05V Inspection Center (HCMC) and the inspector to report the case of the original Mercedes-Benz C250 Exclusive failing the inspection.
At the same time, the Registration Department also requested the Center to promptly contact the owner of the above vehicle, invite him to work, and re-register the vehicle.
The Inspection Department leader added that they will work to determine whose fault it is. If the inspection center is wrong, they will have to pay the inspection costs for the vehicle owner.
This person also emphasized that currently, many defective items are accepted when going for vehicle inspection such as: paint color different from the information recorded in the vehicle registration, body, cockpit, cargo box having exhaust gas leakage from the engine, wheel rim shape will not be included in the items to be inspected and evaluated...
As VietNamNet reported, Mr. Long Vu (35 years old, living in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City), owner of a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C250 Exclusive, with license plate 66A-024.68, was "failed" when he went to register in Ho Chi Minh City even though the car was 100% original.
Mr. Vu shared that according to the appointment registered via the app, on the afternoon of May 17, he drove to the Motor Vehicle Inspection Center No. 50-05V, Hong Ha branch (Tan Binh district, Ho Chi Minh City) to have his car inspected with all the required documents according to the law.
After checking all the items, when taking photos of the vehicle, the inspector said: "The car's grille has been replaced and is not in accordance with the technical documents of the car when it left the factory."
Mr. Long Vu presented that the Mercedes C250 (model number W205) has 2 versions: C250 AMG (same as the one printed by the inspector) and C250 Exclusive (same as Mr. Long's car).
However, the inspector still confirmed that this car had a new grille, did not process the inspection, returned the file and forced the owner to change the grille and front bumper to the C250 AMG version before being able to go to the center and re-inspecte.
At 4:00 p.m. the same day, Mr. Long Vu went to Mercedes-Benz Vietnam (Go Vap district) and asked to check the car's VIN number to prove the above.
After being certified by the manufacturer, Mr. Long printed the spare part code from the manufacturer's website to prove that this part on the car was original and returned to the center.
He sent the inspector a picture showing his Mercedes C250 (W205) with 2 versions AMG and Exclusive, along with a picture verifying that his car's grille was original, not modified. However, this person was still sure that Mr. Long Vu's car was in violation, refused to register and returned the file to have the car repaired.
