On January 20, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team, Thu Duc City Police (HCMC) said they are still coordinating with functional units to urgently handle the scene and investigate the cause of the 16-seat car fire.
Initial information, at around 11am the same day, the male driver was driving a 16-seat car on Nguyen Van Tang Street, from Nguyen Xien Street to Le Van Viet Street (Long Thanh My Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) when he discovered something unusual. At this time, the driver pulled the car over to the side of the road.
Then, the car suddenly burst into flames, the male driver managed to escape. Discovering the incident, local residents helped the driver put out the fire but were unsuccessful, the fire grew high, spread to the surrounding power lines, and the area also lost power.
The fire caused traffic congestion on Nguyen Van Tang Street.
The 16-seat car was on the road when it caught fire fiercely.
Some witnesses said that at the time of the fire, there were no passengers inside the 16-seat car and it was only carrying some goods.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team, Thu Duc City Police coordinated with relevant units to block off, regulate traffic, and handle the fire.
By around 11:30, the fire was completely extinguished. The cause of the incident is still being investigated by authorities.

In October 2023, in Hanoi, there was also an incident of a car burning fiercely while driving on the road. Specifically, witnesses at the scene said that the incident occurred at around 6:00 p.m. on October 19, when a Hyundai Santafe car was traveling through 72 Tran Phu when it caught fire fiercely.
Some people also said that when they saw the car on fire, the driver panicked. After about 10 minutes, the fire was completely extinguished. The front of the car was burned to the frame. There were no casualties.
