Building Dong Son district to soon become a model district

In 2 days (May 9 and 10), the 26th Congress of the Fatherland Front of Dong Son district, term 2024-2029, took place. Attending the congress was comrade Nguyen Quang Hai, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

During the past term, the Fatherland Front at all levels and member organizations of Dong Son district have made efforts and responsibilities to overcome difficulties, actively innovated the content and methods of operation, completed and exceeded the 5 action programs and 5 targets and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 25th District Fatherland Front Congress with many creative contents and methods, contributing to building and consolidating the great national unity bloc.

Notably, implementing the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas (XDNTM) and civilized urban areas", the Fatherland Front and its member organizations mobilized people to donate over 180,000 ^m2 of land, and contributed over 108,000 working days (equivalent to more than 396 billion VND) to expand roads; renovate and build 102 new village cultural houses and social welfare works. In particular, during the term, the district Fatherland Front coordinated with the district People's Committee to direct the construction of 94 models of "Applying IT in propaganda and mobilizing people to build advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas, and build civilized urban areas" in 100% of villages and residential groups.

The district Fatherland Front has chaired and coordinated the mobilization of the "For the Poor" Fund, which has raised over 2.7 billion VND and many objects to support the construction and repair of 101 Great Solidarity houses; support production development, support the examination and treatment of serious illnesses, and help hundreds of poor students excel in their studies... Launched a campaign to raise funds to support the COVID-19 Prevention Fund with a total value of both money and objects of over 5.5 billion VND; of which, cash donations totaled over 3.3 billion VND. Responding to the "Towards the City Named After Uncle Ho" Week, people from all walks of life in the district have donated and supported necessities and goods worth over 2.3 billion VND. Promoting the people's mastery and participation in Party building and government building has become increasingly clearer in terms of organization and implementation methods; social supervision and criticism activities have been implemented with increasingly strict and effective processes.

The Congress also seriously reviewed and frankly pointed out the shortcomings and limitations in the organization and operation methods of the District Fatherland Front Committee for the 2019-2024 term; at the same time, it proposed 10 targets and 6 action programs of the District Fatherland Front Committee for the 2024-2029 term with key goals, tasks and specific implementation solutions.

Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Phuong and Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Dong Son District People's Committee Le Trong Thu acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding results achieved by the Fatherland Front at all levels in Dong Son district; at the same time, frankly pointed out the limitations in directing and organizing the implementation of the tasks of the Fatherland Front in the past term.

In order for the Front's work to continue to develop and achieve practical results in the coming time, the comrades suggested that the district Fatherland Front continue to promote propaganda work, raise awareness among cadres, party members and people of all walks of life about the cause of great national unity, about the position, role, functions and tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the new period. Focus on substantially and effectively innovating the content and methods of operation of the Fatherland Front at all levels in the district; well performing the core political role, being the political base of the People's government. Continue to innovate and diversify organizational forms and methods of gathering and mobilizing, focusing on the grassroots and residential areas. Strongly promote the role and responsibility of member organizations and the Advisory Board; represent and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members, association members and people.

In addition, the Fatherland Front at all levels needs to organize well self-management activities in the community; promote democracy, create social consensus; proactively and actively participate in Party building and government building; train and build a contingent of front cadres with sufficient capacity, qualities, and aspirations to contribute. Continue to perform well the role and functions of the Fatherland Front in the current period, mobilize the people to actively participate in Party building, government building, and an increasingly strong political system.
