Dong An commune, Van Yen district meets advanced new rural standards

With the efforts of the entire political system, the consensus and support of the people, Dong An commune was recognized as meeting the new rural standards in 2019. Immediately after meeting the new rural standards, Dong An commune focused on improving the criteria and specifying each work content to direct implementation. Up to now, the appearance of the countryside has changed significantly, people's awareness has been raised, people have agreed to voluntarily contribute money and working days to join hands in building an advanced new rural area.

Up to now, Dong An commune has completed 19/19 advanced new rural criteria, the rural appearance has improved a lot, village roads and alleys have been expanded, many flowers and trees have been planted, there are entertainment spots, cultural and sports movements are organized in a diverse and rich way.

Currently, the commune has 4 villages which are typical model villages in building a new-style rural area. In the commune, there are 6 cooperatives, 1 OCOP product meeting 3-star OCOP standards, 3 large-scale livestock farms, the multidimensional poverty rate has decreased to 2.64%. The average income per capita in the commune in 2024 will reach 62 million VND/year. The cultural and social fields are of interest, the political system operates effectively and efficiently, national defense and security are maintained.

At the ceremony, the leaders of Van Yen District People's Committee awarded the Certificate of Recognition of the commune meeting the advanced NTM standards in 2025 and a reward of 600 million VND from the province to the Party Committee, government and people of Dong An commune; awarded certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee to 3 collectives and 3 individuals of Dong An commune. Awarding certificates of merit from the District People's Committee to 6 collectives and 8 individuals, Dong An Commune People's Committee awarded 15 certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to join hands to build NTM.

To maintain the achieved results, in the coming time, Dong An commune will continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the agricultural development program and build new rural areas according to the policies and resolutions of the central government, the province and the district. Do a good job of propaganda so that people clearly understand the meaning, goals, content and methods in the process of implementing new rural construction in the locality.

Promote the spirit of solidarity, innovation and creativity in economic and social development according to national target programs and sustainable poverty reduction; replicate highly effective economic development models, promote the development of farm economy and household economy to improve people's lives and incomes; promote the movement to protect national security and ensure rural security.
