Cam Tuyen commune strives to reach the goal of building advanced new rural areas

By the end of 2023, Cam Lo district will have 6/7 communes that have completed the criteria for building an advanced new rural commune. Currently, the locality is focusing on directing and prioritizing resources to make Cam Tuyen commune the last locality to reach the finish line of building a commune that meets advanced new rural standards in 2024, striving to build Cam Lo district to meet the standards of a model new rural district in the direction of high value-added agriculture associated with a green, clean, and beautiful environment, in the period of 2021-2025.

Party Secretary and Chairman of Cam Tuyen Commune People's Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan said that, implementing the plan to build a commune that meets advanced NTM standards by 2024, the entire political system and people in the commune have determined the content of work, the volume of completion associated with responsibilities, promoting the initiative of relevant cadres and civil servants corresponding to the criteria and targets in charge according to the spirit of 4 has: "Have specific work; have specific people; have specific addresses; have specific results".

Strengthening propaganda work on joining hands to build advanced NTM to ensure practicality; integrating, mobilizing and effectively using resources, especially key resources from people and subjects of NTM construction for implementation. Continuing to maintain and improve the quality of 13/19 achieved advanced NTM criteria, striving to achieve 19/19 advanced NTM commune criteria by the end of 2024. Accordingly, the locality needs to mobilize resources of about 20 billion VND to invest in meeting the standards of advanced NTM commune criteria.

With high determination, drastic and creative actions, up to now, Cam Tuyen commune has mobilized resources, set out tasks, solutions and implementation roadmap, striving to complete 6 criteria for building advanced new-style rural communes that have not been achieved in 2024.

In particular, regarding traffic criteria, integrating and mobilizing resources, continuing to invest in and upgrade roads and road axes, especially village and hamlet axes including Ba Thung, An Thai, and Tan Quang villages; investing in planning to plant trees and shade trees on both sides of the road axes to ensure compliance with regulations, creating a bright, green, clean, beautiful landscape and protecting the environment..., to be completed by June 2024.

Regarding the education criteria, maintain Cam Tuyen Secondary School and Hoa Phuong Kindergarten to meet level 1 facilities standards; invest in level 2 standards for Cam Tuyen Primary School, to be completed in October 2024. Regarding the health criteria, mobilize people to participate in health insurance, coordinate with relevant units to guide, manage, and use information technology in medical examination and treatment, health management, remote health examination, health management with electronic medical records, to be completed in October 2024.

Mobilize and integrate resources, call on investors to build pipelines to bring clean water from Cam Lo Water Plant to Ba Thung, Binh My, An Thai, An My villages...; support people to invest in some more household and public toilet projects, to be completed in December 2024. The criteria for living environment quality have been invested in by the project using Vietnam - Italy debt conversion capital, including 3 communes of Cam Tuyen, Cam Chinh, Cam Nghia.

Regarding the criteria for organizing production to develop the rural economy, in 2024, Cam Tuyen commune will focus on directing the establishment of An My fruit growing cooperative; develop a plan to support the implementation of OCOP products Tien Vua red grapefruit and Indonesian red-fleshed jackfruit, and guide the subjects to complete the procedures for recognition. Propose a concentrated raw material area for the commune's key agricultural products with area codes for rice, peanuts, rubber trees, medicinal plants, and fruit trees with an area of 215 hectares; develop models of concentrated production, livestock, joint ventures, and value chain linkage.

The most difficult problem of Cam Tuyen commune at present is implementing multidimensional poverty criteria, because in the area there is Ban Chua, a particularly difficult village with 100% of the population being ethnic minorities.

Currently, Cam Tuyen commune is focusing on directing the review and re-evaluation, and coordinating with the district's Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to integrate programs such as the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, the Socio-Economic Development Program for Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas, and the Sustainable Poverty Reduction Program to focus resources to help Ban Chua reduce multidimensional poverty.

Classify poor households in associations and unions, evaluate households with the ability to escape poverty. Assign specific poverty reduction targets so that associations and unions can help and mobilize members to escape poverty, striving to reduce the poverty rate to below 4% by the end of 2024...

Along with focusing on mobilizing resources to complete the criteria for building advanced new-style rural communes that have not been met, Cam Tuyen commune strives to build Binh My and Tan Quang villages to meet level 1 model new-style rural standards in 2024; Ba Thung and An Thai villages to meet level 2 model new-style rural standards; and maintain An My village to meet model new-style rural standards to build a roadmap and plan to build a smart new-style rural village.

Currently, the whole district is focusing on prioritizing investment resources for Cam Tuyen commune to reach the goal of an advanced NTM commune, contributing to the effort to bring Cam Lo district to the goal of building an advanced NTM district by 2024.

“By working from the fields to the house, from the house to the residential area; mobilizing effective investment from all resources; relying on the people's strength to take care of people's lives, relying on the strength of the masses to create new rural areas, advanced new rural areas; taking farmers' income, rural environment and people's satisfaction at the grassroots level as the core, the entire political system from the commune to the village and the people of Cam Tuyen commune will create a breakthrough to achieve advanced new rural standards by the end of 2024", said Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan.
