During the survey, the authorities determined that the planned area to be demarcated was more than 7.2 hectares, including a rocky mountain area and a part of flat land near the foot of the mountain.

Through the survey, the Department of Culture - Information and the People's Committee of Ha Long commune, Ha Trung district determined that the flat land area at the foot of Dun mountain currently has a stone and construction material production workshop of Tien Thinh Company Limited and a stone processing workshop of VinaStone Company Limited.

Ha Trung District People's Committee stated that the processing and production activities of the above mentioned workshops and factories will greatly affect the landscape and environment of Dun Mountain area and the orientation of heritage conservation and tourism development of the locality.

Therefore, the People's Committee of Ha Trung district proposed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to direct relevant units to study, review, and adjust the scope and boundaries of the area temporarily prohibited from mining activities at Dun mountain.
