46 workers hospitalized after October 20th party: Ministry of Health requests investigation into cause

The Department of Food Safety (Ministry of Health) has just sent a document to the Department of Health of Bac Giang province requesting investigation and handling of suspected food poisoning cases.

According to the Food Safety Department, the department has received a quick report from the Bac Giang Provincial Department of Health about the suspected food poisoning incident that occurred at Shinsung Vina Company Limited (address: Lot B1, Song Khe - Noi Hoang Industrial Park, Bac Giang City, Bac Giang Province).

According to initial statistics, about 46 people were hospitalized with symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness and fever after eating the October 20th party meal organized by the company.

The Food Safety Department has requested the Bac Giang Provincial Department of Health to temporarily suspend the operations of a meal provider suspected of causing food poisoning.

At the same time, promptly organize an investigation and trace the origin of food to clearly identify the source of raw materials and food for the processing facility suspected of causing poisoning. Take food and disease samples for testing to find the cause.

If any violations of food safety regulations are detected, they must be strictly handled and the results made public to promptly warn the community.

The Food Safety Department also requested the Bac Giang Provincial Department of Health to strengthen propaganda and guidance for food service establishments and collective kitchens to ensure hygiene and food safety conditions. Ensure strict implementation of management of food ingredients' origin, three-step food inspection, food sample storage and hygiene in processing stages.

Earlier, at noon on October 20, Shinsung Vina Co., Ltd. held a party for more than 1,100 workers. The food preparation was done by another company. The menu included seafood soup, steamed prawns with coconut water, rare veal with lemon, butter-fried squid, honey-grilled chicken, grilled catfish with galangal and rice vinegar and vegetable rolls...
