At the meeting, VOV Deputy General Director Pham Manh Hung emphasized the history of the special relationship between Vietnam and Cuba and the cooperation between VOV and the Cuban Institute of Information and Social Communications.
The cooperation agreement between VOV and the Cuban Institute of Information and Social Communications was first signed in 2013, and then in 2018. In addition to the achieved results, there are still many contents that need to be implemented and developed to a new level, especially in the context of digital transformation of journalism and increasingly developing communication technology. The two sides agreed to sign a new cooperation agreement to promote activities to promote greater efficiency.

Within the framework of the new Cooperation Agreement, the two sides agreed to add many new provisions and contents, including cooperation in exchanging news, information, digital content and radio and television programs on culture, history, music and tourism to expand and deepen mutual understanding, friendship and knowledge of the people of the two countries.
The two sides also agreed to cooperate in producing and co-producing radio and television programs on culture, history and tourism to be broadcast on their respective radio and television channels.
In addition to exchanging programs and training reporters and editors, the two sides will exchange high-ranking delegations to discuss professional skills and management and production of radio and television programs.
Mr. Alfonso Noya Martínez, President of the Cuban Institute of Information and Social Communications, said that the two sides can absolutely promote cooperation in exchanging current news about each country, cultural and lifestyle introduction programs to promote understanding and cooperation between the two countries; at the same time, sharing experiences to maintain the leading role of the mainstream press in information as well as solving challenges in the digital transformation process, upgrading radio and television technology, etc. The Cuban Institute of Information and Social Communications has just received a new mission, so it really needs new experiences to perfect its operating model.
Mr. Alfonso Noya Martínez thanked VOV for its affection and valuable support for the Institute and hoped to continue receiving cooperation and support from Vietnamese partners in the future.
