With a history of 4,000 years of building and defending the country, Vietnamese culture carries within itself rich and diverse values. In that cultural treasure, traditional costumes play an important role, expressing the national cultural identity through historical periods. At the program, the audience had the opportunity to admire the beauty of ancient costumes from the Ly, Tran, Le to Nguyen dynasties, such as the cross-collar shirt, the Nhat Binh shirt, the Ngu Than shirt... Each costume is not simply a costume, but also a vivid work of art, reflecting the history and culture of the nation.
The program “Following the Golden Thread” does not stop at performing traditional costumes but also creates a rich exchange space, helping the public, especially young people, get closer to traditional cultural values. Experiential activities such as calligraphy and tea making have opened up opportunities for participants to learn more about the unique cultural forms of Vietnam. These activities are not only educational but also contribute to raising awareness about preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, one of the event organizers, “The Traditional Costume Festival not only aims to honor cultural values but also to arouse national pride in each person, especially the young generation. We hope that through the traditional costumes, people will better understand the history and cultural heritage of their ancestors.”
The program is also an opportunity for artisans, actors and people who love traditional culture to exchange and share experiences and passion. The traditional costumes on display are not only beautiful in form but also contain stories, memories and profound cultural values, thereby affirming the position of costumes in the heart of national culture.
