At the press conference on December 7, 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications announced the handling of administrative violations in the field of press - radio and television. Notably, there were violations against 2 units including: WPP Company, VNG Corporation.
On November 28, 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications administratively sanctioned WPP Company for placing advertising products on channels with illegal content.

In addition, on December 6, 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communications also administratively sanctioned VNG Corporation for providing services for 6 G1 electronic games including: Tu Lo Kho, Poker Vietnam, Crazy Tien Len, Tien Len Mien Nam, Co Ca Ngua, and Co Tuong that were not in accordance with the approved script.
In addition to being administratively sanctioned, VNG was also deprived of the right to use Decision No. 03/QD-TCTT dated January 16, 2009 approving the content of online game scripts issued by the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information for 2 months due to violating Clause 2, Article 1 of this Decision.
Business is gloomy, VNG's loss exceeds expectations
Also in November, VNG Corporation was fined VND85 million by the State Securities Commission for administrative violations. The reason was that the company did not disclose information on time with the 2022 separate and consolidated financial statements and the 2022 Annual Report.
Regarding business results in the third quarter, the company recorded an 11% increase in revenue over the same period, reaching VND2,332.9 billion. Gross profit reached nearly VND1,000 billion, up 3.7%. Gross profit margin reached 41.9%.
During the period, financial revenue increased to VND28.2 billion, equivalent to an increase of 21.9%. Financial expenses increased to VND52.5 billion while in the same period only VND700 million was recorded. Interest expenses currently account for VND29.4 billion. In the third quarter, the company lost VND117 billion, down from the same period.
However, if calculated cumulatively from the beginning of the year until now, VNG's revenue reached 6,431.3 billion VND. The company is currently losing an accumulated 465.1 billion VND, equivalent to 82.2% of the loss according to the plan set at the beginning of the year. Thus, VNG is losing more than expected compared to the target from the beginning of the year.
