Kien Tao Scholarship is Vinschool's educational charity project to narrow the gap in educational conditions and opportunities for success between students in rural and remote areas and students in the city, inspiring the spread of knowledge and compassion to the community.
The special feature of the Kien Tao scholarship is that students are not only provided with living expenses, computers, Internet, and online training by the Vinschool system, but also closely accompanied by excellent teachers throughout their high school studies. Through the 1:1 remote mentoring program, Vinschool teachers will work closely with parents and local teachers to personalize the learning path for each student to orient their careers and develop soft skills so that they can make the best choices for their future.
Students were awarded the 2024 Kien Tao scholarships at the ceremony.
Criteria for receiving Kien Tao scholarships are evaluated based on many factors such as family circumstances, academic achievements, personal essays, letters of recommendation from teachers and direct interview results with the judges. In particular, the focus is on the spirit of overcoming difficulties to achieve excellent results.
This year's Kien Tao Scholarship was awarded to 30 best students out of 119 applications from 12 provinces and cities nationwide, including: Yen Bai, Bac Giang, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Lam Dong, Dong Thap, Binh Thuan...
Speaking at the scholarship award ceremony, Ms. Vu Thi Ha, representative of Vinschool's Board of Directors, shared: "Responsibility to the community is a core value in Vinschool's educational philosophy. The Kien Tao Scholarship Program is part of that mission, aiming to provide learning opportunities for excellent students from difficult circumstances, helping them access an advanced education, equivalent to their peers in the city. This is not only an academic recognition, but also demonstrates Vinschool's understanding, empathy and commitment to narrowing the educational gap in Vietnam."
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Director of the Department of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education and Training, also emphasized: "The selection process of Vinschool's Kien Tao Scholarship is consistent with the educational goal of developing capacity and qualities, similar to other prestigious scholarship programs in the world. We also highly appreciate the continuous efforts of the 108 students who received the scholarship and 30 students received it this year. We hope that they will continue to strive in their learning journey, developing themselves to achieve the goals that they, as well as the Kien Tao Scholarship program, are aiming for."
Vinschool teachers advise parents and excellent students to overcome difficulties and win scholarships.
This is the third time that Vinschool has awarded the Kien Tao Scholarship to poor students who have overcome difficulties nationwide since 2020. To date, Vinschool has supported 108 students from more than 30 provinces and cities across the country to pursue their study dreams, confidently walking on the path to success. Notably, the 30 students who received the first scholarship all passed the university entrance exam in the first quarter, some of them excelled in achieving IELTS 8.0….
Hoang Nu Kieu Oanh, a 12th grader from Hue City and the recipient of the Kien Tao Scholarship 2020, shared: "What I am most grateful for is that the Kien Tao Scholarship has helped me improve my English skills through online classes and dedicated advice. Being supported with IELTS exam costs is also a great motivation for me to be admitted early to Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, reducing the burden on my family."
In addition to their outstanding academic achievements, students receiving Kien Tao scholarships from Vinschool have proactively participated in and led many activities that have brought positive impacts to the communities where they live, such as environmental protection projects, developing a reading culture, tutoring and supporting people in difficult circumstances, contributing to motivating positive movements in the locality.
