NDO - On November 18, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024); honoring Excellent Teachers and presenting the Vo Truong Toan Award in 2024.
At the celebration, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu said that in the context of the whole country implementing strong, fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training, the city has achieved many major goals of education...
Among them, there is a shift from knowledge education to learners’ qualities and abilities; gradually making English the second foreign language in schools. These encouraging results are thanks to the persistent work and contributions of each individual teacher, civil servant, and employee in the entire industry.
"Regardless of their position, directly or indirectly working in education, teachers and staff all have valuable contributions to the overall development of the entire industry," emphasized comrade Nguyen Van Hieu.
Recognizing, praising and appreciating the contributions of the teaching staff, Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le sent congratulations on the achievements that teachers and the education and training sector of Ho Chi Minh City have achieved over the past years.
“It is a great pride that Ho Chi Minh City has many outstanding teachers and educational administrators who have been honored with noble awards from the Party and the State. In today’s 42nd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, 14 teachers were awarded the title of Excellent Teacher,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Le, adding that this is an honor and pride for the education and training sector, a worthy result of the efforts and dedication of teachers and educational administrators in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council also said that the requirements of the Ho Chi Minh City education and training sector require all managers, teachers, staff and students to constantly innovate both in quantity and quality for common development.
Ho Chi Minh City leaders will continue to pay attention, closely direct and create all favorable conditions for education development. In particular, recognizing and praising the contributions of teachers and educational managers is even more necessary, creating motivation for teachers to continue to contribute to the training and fostering of high-quality human resources for Ho Chi Minh City and the country.
On this occasion, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City honored 14 teachers with the title of Excellent Teacher; 50 managers and teachers were awarded the Vo Truong Toan Award in 2024; 14 collectives with outstanding achievements in the 2023-2024 school year were honored to receive the emulation flag of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
