VinFast VF3 and VF5 take the top 2 best-selling cars in October 2024
Việt Nam•18/11/2024
According to VAMA, total market sales reached 38,761 vehicles in October 2024, up 6% over the previous month and up 53% over the same period last year.
In October 2024, each car in the top 10best selling carAll have sales of at least 1,000 units.
With 5,000 units, VinFast VF 3 set a record for the number of cars sold in a month since the beginning of 2024. Its senior model VinFast VF 5 also recorded impressive sales with 2,600 cars sold. Excluding VinFast’s report, which does not regularly publish data like VAMA or Hyundai Thanh Cong, the list of 10 best-selling cars in the market will see the appearance of Toyota Corolla Cross and Ford Everest. Thus, Corolla Cross has made an impressive comeback after a long time of not being in the top 10. Hyundai Grand i10 dominates the A-class car segment with sales of 753 units, nearly 4 times more than the second-placed Toyota Wigo. The B-class car segment is still the "territory" of the familiar trio Toyota Vios, Honda City and Hyundai Accent. Of which, Toyota Vios continues to lead with 1,757 cars sold. After months of struggling, Mazda3 finally accelerated, leaving Kia K3 far behind in October 2024. Specifically, Mazda3 sold 676 units, nearly double the competitor right behind. D-segment cars did not sell very well in October, when even Toyota Camry did not achieve sales of over 100 units. With only 4 units sold despite a discount of up to 220 million VND, Honda Accord not only sold the least in the segment but also the model (not in the group of popular cars) sold the least in the entire market. Honda Civic Type R did not sell any units in October, but this result is not surprising because this is a picky car model, and the number of imported units is not much. MPV is still the "territory" of Mitsubishi Xpander with 2,131 units sold. This is also the best-selling internal combustion engine model in the entire market in October 2024. The pickup segment is not surprising as Ford Ranger continues to dominate with 1,881 vehicles, a sharp increase of 27.6% compared to the previous month. For the first time, Hyundai Santa Fe has monthly sales of over 1,000 units since the beginning of 2024. However, this model still sadly ranks behind Ford Everest. The most surprising change of position was in the B-class SUV group. Toyota Yaris Cross overtook the "sales phenomenon" Xforce to take the lead with 1,510 units sold. Toyota Corolla Cross also had a strong "rejuvenation" with 1,402 units sold, ranking 3rd in the segment. Thereby bringing this model back to the top 10 of the gasoline-fueled vehicle group in the entire market. Mazda CX-5 sold 2,008 vehicles in October 2024, up 8.1% over the previous month and closely following Mitsubishi Xpander in the overall rankings.
