With the addition of the Boeing 787-10, it continues to affirm its pioneering position in the Vietnamese aviation industry. The Boeing 787-10 is one of the newest and most modern versions of the Boeing Group's wide-body aircraft "family". It is also the largest passenger aircraft in Vietnam today with a length of over 68 meters, a commercial payload of 56-60 tons and a maximum flight range of nearly 12,000km. The aircraft has a configuration of 367 seats with 2 Business Class (24 seats) and Economy Class (343 seats).

Vietnam Airlines Deputy General Director Dang Anh Tuan shared: “As the national airline, Vietnam Airlines always strives to be the leader in expanding and upgrading its fleet. Through this, we not only bring great experiences to passengers, but also carry out the mission of connecting Vietnam with the world and between regions across the country, making a strong contribution to the development of the economy and society.” The Boeing 787-10 has many technological breakthroughs and possesses modern features that help to meet the needs of passengers. The aircraft has outstanding advantages such as spacious space, comfortable seats and a modern entertainment system. LED lighting, air humidity and pressure are optimized to bring a pleasant feeling to passengers. Business Class seats are arranged in a staggered fishbone pattern and can be completely reclined, helping passengers enjoy a spacious and private space on thousands of miles of journeys. In addition, passengers appreciate the Boeing 787-10 for its additional amenities such as personal screens with a variety of entertainment programs that are regularly updated, windows with 5 light modes, reading lights, USB ports built into the seats, and larger legroom and luggage compartments.

Notably, the new generation aircraft is famous for its fuel efficiency and environmental friendliness thanks to the integration of advanced technology that reduces 25% of fuel per seat and emissions compared to previous generation aircraft. With the receipt of the new Boeing 787-10 aircraft, Vietnam Airlines now owns a fleet of nearly 100 aircraft. Of which, the wide-body fleet has a total of 05 Boeing 787-10; 11 Boeing 787-9 and 14 Airbus A350.

Wide-body aircraft are mainly operated on international routes between Vietnam and Northeast Asia, Europe, Australia, the US and on domestic routes from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. The fleet is continuously expanded to help Vietnam Airlines ensure capacity to serve passengers during peak periods. This is especially meaningful in the context of the aviation industry's shortage of aircraft due to the impact of manufacturers recalling aircraft engines globally. Modern aircraft are also a key factor helping Vietnam Airlines enhance the passenger experience on flights aiming for international 5-star standards.
