Vietnam - China joint patrol in border waters

Vietnam and China Coast Guards conduct joint patrols in border waters to strengthen coordination in the fight against crime during the Lunar New Year.

On February 5, the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Chinese Coast Guard conducted a joint patrol from point 1 to point 9 in the border sea area of Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province and Dongxing city, Fangchenggang, Guangxi province, China.

This is where many import-export activities and goods exchange between Vietnam and China take place, and is also an area often exploited to carry out illegal activities such as smuggling, trade fraud, border crossing, and illegal entry by sea.

Vietnam Coast Guard Region 1 Command sent CSB ship squadron 4036, 4002, boat 605 to participate in the joint patrol, while China deployed Coast Guard ship squadron 22603, boat 22513 and boat squadron 22020, 22031 of the Guangxi Coast Guard Department.

The patrol aims to strengthen coordination in the fight against crime and law violations, especially during the Lunar New Year 2024.

This is the first time the Coast Guards of the two countries have conducted joint patrols in the border waters. This activity will be conducted every quarter from this year, aiming to maintain security and order, and ensure compliance with the law by the people of the two countries.
