Vietnam, with its natural beauty and rich rural agricultural values, is not only famous for its bamboo hedges, dykes, and villages, but also has special features in its production methods. Deputy Minister Ho An Phong emphasized that rural Vietnam has many resources and potentials, especially its simple and rustic people. International tourists come to Vietnam not only to experience luxury hotels but also to explore peaceful villages. "Tourism plays an important role in agricultural and rural development. Tourism is the wing that brings culture and heritage to tourists, creating changes and preserving the heritage of Vietnamese villages," Mr. Phong shared.

"We organize the conference at a time when Vietnamese tourism has achieved many impressive achievements thanks to the Government's synchronous policies and the participation of sectors and localities," Mr. Phong said. According to the Organizing Committee, the conference will discuss and orient policies for sustainable rural tourism development, ensuring fair distribution of tourism benefits, creating jobs, protecting natural and cultural resources, social integration, empowering local communities and vulnerable groups. The conference is expected to bring together speakers from tourism management agencies of UN Tourism member countries, villages from the UN Tourism Best Villages Network, international organizations such as FAO, PATA and scholars in the field of rural tourism.
