The President emphasized that Vietnam wishes to cooperate with traditional friends in Latin America, especially with Chile, a leading country that plays a leading role in the regional integration process.

During his official visit to the Republic of Chile, on the afternoon of November 10 local time, in the capital Santiago de Chile, President Luong Cuong received President of the Chilean Socialist Party Paulina Vodanovic.
At the reception, President Luong Cuong expressed his joy at leading a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to an official visit to Chile, a beautiful and hospitable country, for the first time.
The President thanked the people and peace-loving leftist forces of Chile for their enthusiastic support and solidarity with the Vietnamese people in the past struggle for national independence and reunification, and especially the Socialist Party's support for Vietnam in the renovation process under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam today.
The President highly appreciated the fact that the two countries and two parties share many similarities in the aspirations for freedom, independence, justice, equality, and social progress on the basis of a solid relationship, shared common interests, and have the potential to expand cooperation, complement and support each other in the development process for the benefit of the people of each country, for peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
Sharing some major features of the situation in Vietnam, the President said that after nearly 40 years of persistently implementing the renovation policy, Vietnam has achieved great and historic achievements, especially in economy, social security, national defense and security, building a socialist rule-of-law state, administrative and judicial reform, and anti-corruption...
The President stated that Vietnam always adheres to the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification and multilateralization of relations, proactive and active international integration, being a friend, a reliable partner and an active and responsible member of the international community, in which Vietnam always attaches importance to developing comprehensive and modern diplomacy, based on three pillars: Party diplomacy, State diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy, creating a framework for stable and sustainable relations with partners.
Vietnam advocates proactive and active international integration, comprehensively and extensively, contributing to the process of building and shaping multilateral and regional institutions, especially ASEAN, the United Nations, regional, inter-regional and Mekong Sub-region cooperation mechanisms.
The President stressed that Vietnam wishes to cooperate with traditional friends in Latin America, especially with Chile, a leading country that plays a leading role in the process of regional integration and regional connectivity and plays an increasingly important role in global issues.
The President hopes that in the coming time, the two Parties need to strengthen close coordination and effectively implement the cooperation agreement between the two Parties, while continuing to consolidate high-level trust and the foundation of political relations as the basis and orientation for the development of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, especially in areas where both sides have strengths.
The President stressed that the two sides need to continue to support, encourage and create conditions to promote the implementation of bilateral cooperation mechanisms and agreements, action plans and cooperation agreements between the two countries; focus on promoting cooperation in areas where both sides have needs and potential such as security-defense, science-technology, green development, digital transformation, renewable energy to create momentum for trade and investment relations between the two countries; support the two governments to closely coordinate at international forums, especially at the United Nations.
At the same time, it creates favorable conditions and promotes people-to-people exchanges to enhance mutual understanding, creating a premise for maintaining and further promoting the traditional friendly cooperation between the people of the two countries.
The President expressed his belief that with the attention of the Chilean Socialist Party and joint efforts, the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries will develop more strongly and substantially.
For her part, President of the Chilean Socialist Party Paulina Vodanovic expressed her pleasure at welcoming President Luong Cuong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, emphasizing that the visit is of great significance in promoting relations between the two countries in general and between the two parties in particular.
Ms. Vodanovic said that despite the geographical distance, the two countries have always had a good traditional friendship; emphasizing that the struggle for independence of the Vietnamese people had a great influence on the young generation of Chile at that time and that there was a march of hundreds of kilometers from the port city of Valparaiso to the capital Santiago in 1969 to express support for the just struggle of the Vietnamese people.
The President of the Chilean Socialist Party said that immediately after being elected in 1971, President Salvador Allende decided to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam and became the first South American country to do so.
With the friendly relationship between the two countries always being preserved and increasingly developed, especially in recent years, Ms. Paulina Vodanovic affirmed that this is the basis for the two countries to continue expanding cooperation in all fields of economy, politics, diplomacy and culture.
Faced with the changes in the world situation, as well as the people's legitimate desire for a better society, there is an even greater need for leaders who fulfill their roles and responsibilities to better serve the people. The President of the Chilean Socialist Party hopes that Vietnam will share experiences that both countries are interested in, such as ensuring social security and ensuring safety and security for the people. He also hopes to cooperate with Vietnam in the issue of illegal immigration and the fight against crime.
Ms. Paulina Vodanovic affirmed that with her role, the Chilean Socialist Party will continue to preserve and build the good traditional friendship between the two countries to become increasingly deeper and more effective./.
