On March 28 in Da Nang, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Home Affairs of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia jointly organized a workshop on cooperation and experience sharing in fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue between the three countries.

Attending the workshop were General Neth Vantha, Director of the Cambodian Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department; Colonel Vilaphone Vongkhammounty, Director of the Lao Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department; Lieutenant General Nguyen Tuan Anh, Director of the Vietnamese Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department; leaders of professional units under the Ministry of Public Security; Da Nang City Police and Police of 19 localities bordering Laos and Cambodia.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Lieutenant General Nguyen Tuan Anh, Director of the Vietnam Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department, said that this was a sideline activity of the first annual conference between the Ministers of Public Security and Interior of the three countries held in Da Nang. The workshop is an important basis for the functional units of the parties in general, and the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Departments of the three countries in particular, to strengthen cooperation activities in the field of fire prevention and fighting and rescue.
The proposed cooperation contents at the Workshop demonstrate the determination for deep cooperation between the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police agencies of the three countries in the spirit of cooperation "Solidarity, sharing and supporting each other to improve combat capacity". The Workshop is the first step in a plan for close and long-term cooperation between the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police agencies of the three countries.
In the coming time, Lieutenant General Nguyen Tuan Anh suggested that the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police forces of the three countries will jointly promote the development, standardization and eliteness of each country's forces, cooperate and build a cooperation mechanism suitable to the conditions, capacity and working practices of each country.
At the workshop, representatives of the fire prevention and fighting and rescue police agencies of the three countries exchanged, shared and discussed three main groups of issues, including: the fire prevention and fighting and rescue situation of each country; cooperation directions in the coming time; coordination mechanism for participating in fire fighting and rescue when there is a fire or incident in the border area that requires the mobilization of forces and means from international partners.
On this occasion, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security organized a photo exhibition on fire prevention and fighting and rescue work in Vietnam; displayed and introduced some modern equipment of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police force of Vietnam.
| Over the years, the Vietnam Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force has always been active and proactive in fulfilling its responsibilities with international issues on fire prevention and rescue, such as: Tay Ninh Provincial Police proactively coordinated with functional units of Svay Rieng Province - Cambodia to organize fire fighting in 3 cases in the period 2017 - 2023. Quang Tri Provincial Police proactively coordinated with functional units of Savanakhet Province - Laos to organize fire fighting in 4 cases in the period from 2014 - 2020. Thereby, it can be seen that the timely support of Vietnam Fire Prevention and Rescue Police units has contributed to minimizing damage to people and property; contributing to further tightening the good relationship and mutual affection between the three countries. |
