The event is an opportunity to review historical moments, honor brotherly solidarity, and arouse pride in the valuable support of Leader Fidel and the Cuban people for Vietnam, as well as an occasion to express gratitude to generations of leaders and people of the two countries who have continuously consolidated and developed the special brotherly solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Cuba over the past 6 decades.
This activity contributes to continuing to educate the young generations of the two countries, especially the young generation of the people of the two capitals, about the tradition of fraternal solidarity, loyalty, and exemplary relations between Vietnam and Cuba in order to continue writing new pages of history of the special and proud relationship.
At the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Van Hay, Chairman of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association of Hanoi, was moved to share that the image of Leader Fidel Castro in an olive green military uniform, waving the victory flag high in the fiery land of Quang Tri in September 1973 has become a symbol of revolutionary heroism, the loyal and pure Vietnam-Cuba relationship, the spirit of uprising and the aspiration for freedom...
Mr. Nguyen Van Hay emphasized: “50 years have passed, but the sentiments of comrade Fidel still leave a deep impression in the minds and lives of many Vietnamese people, continuing to be a symbol of revolutionary heroism, the spirit of uprising and the aspiration for freedom and happiness, a symbol of close attachment to the Vietnamese people.”
According to Mr. Ta Nam Chien, Chairman of Ba Dinh District People's Committee, this talk show is a very meaningful activity, through which it propagates education and raises awareness among the young generation about the noble revolutionary ideal, always ready to fight for independence, freedom, peace and prosperous development of the two nations located in the East and West halves of the globe.
Through the event, Ba Dinh District wishes to introduce to Cuban friends the unique cultural features of Hanoi in general and Ba Dinh District in particular. The government and people of Ba Dinh District always wish to establish a sister district with a district of Havana-Cuba Capital to further strengthen people-to-people diplomacy and expand international cooperation.
Attending the discussion, Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen affirmed that in his position, he will continue to make efforts to strengthen and further expand the good traditional relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.
The two countries have a tradition of close ties, always sharing achievements, anniversaries and significant events together. Among them, we cannot fail to mention the historic visit of Leader Fidel Castro to Vietnam in September 1973 - an event that contributed to making the relationship between the two countries even more special. Although half a century has passed, the visit still leaves a deep impression in the minds of the people of the two countries.

Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen believes that the seminar will help the younger generations of the two countries better understand the significant milestones in the history of bilateral relations, thereby fostering and preserving the deep Vietnam-Cuba relationship.
At the event, delegates reviewed images of the historic visit of Leader Fidel Castro exactly 50 years ago, when the Quang Tri battlefield was still filled with gunpowder.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Thao, former Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, shared stories and deeds that demonstrate the loyal and pure friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Thao was a member of the first class of Vietnamese students invited by President Fidel to study in many fields in order to return and contribute to the country.
