On the afternoon of December 1, President Vo Van Thuong received President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia Samdech Khuon Sudary, on the occasion of his official visit to Vietnam, at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
President Vo Van Thuong congratulated Samdech Khuon Sudary on his election as President of the Cambodian National Assembly and thanked him for choosing Vietnam as the first country to visit in his new position; he believed that the visit would deepen the good traditional friendship between the two countries in general and the close and effective relationship between the two National Assemblies in particular.

The President of the Cambodian National Assembly sincerely thanked President Vo Van Thuong for taking the time to receive him, and thanked the Vietnamese leaders for their sincere and respectful reception for the President and the high-ranking delegation of the Cambodian National Assembly; and thanked the Vietnamese leaders for supporting the recent election results in Cambodia, in which Samdech Khuon Sudary was the first female National Assembly member to be elected as President of the National Assembly. This contributed to improving the effectiveness of cooperation between the two countries as well as being meaningful in promoting the role of women in Cambodia.
He said that after the first 3 months as Chairman of the National Assembly, Samdech Khuon Sudary chose Vietnam as his first foreign visit, to show his respect for the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia that has been built and nurtured by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
The President of the Cambodian National Assembly suggested that the two countries continue to educate the younger generation about the fine tradition of friendship between the two countries to further develop the relationship.
The President of the Cambodian National Assembly informed President Vo Van Thuong that he had a successful meeting with National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue. The two sides highly agreed on the results of cooperation in the past and the future cooperation orientations, bringing the relationship between the two National Assemblies in particular and the relationship between the two countries in general to become increasingly deeper, practical and effective.
The President of the Cambodian National Assembly congratulated and highly appreciated the Communist Party of Vietnam for leading the country and the Vietnamese people to achieve many impressive development achievements in recent times, and wished that Vietnam would cooperate and share experiences with Cambodia for strong development together. Currently, there are many Cambodian students studying in Vietnam and this is a bridge to contribute to promoting the relationship between the two countries.

President Vo Van Thuong thanked the Chairman of the Cambodian National Assembly for his sincere affection for the country and people of Vietnam; and agreed with the Chairman of the National Assembly on educating the younger generations of the two countries about the solidarity and solidarity in the struggle for independence and freedom in the past as well as in the national construction and development of each country today. The President affirmed that Vietnam's development achievements have important cooperation, support and encouragement from Cambodia.

Emphasizing that the two countries have overcome many ups and downs and challenges together and have many things in common in the development process, the President said that the development of one country is an encouragement and motivation for the other.
The President suggested that the two countries should increase high-level and all-level contacts; promote contacts and exchanges through the Party, State, Government, National Assembly, people-to-people exchanges, and border exchanges. Along with that, promote the pillar of defense and security cooperation. Based on the positive results of the economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries in recent times, the President suggested that the two sides further promote them, especially trade cooperation, which still has much room, bringing goods and agricultural products to each other's markets.
In the context of rapid and complex changes in the world and the region, the President hopes that the two countries will continue to unite, share, cooperate and support each other on international and regional issues on the basis of ensuring the interests of each side.
The President agreed with the President of the Cambodian National Assembly on promoting cooperation in the field of personnel training in a diversified manner to improve the quality of human resources, meeting the development requirements of each country. The two sides also need to continue to make efforts to speed up the progress of demarcation and marker planting of the remaining 16% of the demarcation.
Recalling that each time he visited and worked in Cambodia, he witnessed the positive development of Cambodia; felt the warm and sincere affection of the Cambodian leaders, President Vo Van Thuong sent his regards to King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk; President of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Techo Hun Sen; Prime Minister Hun Manet and other senior leaders of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Appreciating the President of the Cambodian National Assembly for his excellent performance in various positions in the past, especially in the humanitarian movement and for the development of women, the President wished Samdech Khuon Sudary and the Cambodian National Assembly to successfully complete the assigned tasks, contributing to the stronger development of Cambodia and promoting the increasingly good Vietnam-Cambodia relationship.
