Vietnam and Algeria jointly create conditions and support businesses of both sides to develop

On October 11, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi hosted a reception for the new Algerian Ambassador to Vietnam, Sofiane Chaib.

At the reception, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi congratulated Mr. Sofiane Chaib on his appointment as Algerian Ambassador to Vietnam. He also informed that the two countries have successfully organized 12 meetings of the Vietnam-Algeria Intergovernmental Committee (ICC) with many cooperation contents of mutual interest such as economy, trade, technology, etc.

At the 12th Session held in Hanoi in October 2023, the two sides had new cooperation opportunities; actively discussed issues of mutual concern and drafted 15 memorandums of understanding between ministries and branches; held bilateral meetings, online meetings, and discussed and resolved issues.

In addition, the two countries have had cooperation between local governments. Dien Bien province of Vietnam and Batna province of Algeria have signed a twinning and cooperation agreement, exchanging experiences and encouraging the implementation of projects.

In the coming time, as co-chair of the Vietnam - Algeria Joint Committee for Cooperation, the Ministry of Construction will review and promote cooperation agreements in each field signed by both sides, contributing to promoting the cooperative relationship between the two countries.

The Minister also expressed his hope that Ambassador Sofiane Chaib and the Algerian side would coordinate and promote the signing of the agreement; and support Vietnamese production and business enterprises in Algeria.

Thanking Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi and the Ministry of Construction for the welcome, the new Algerian Ambassador to Vietnam Sofiane Chaib affirmed that Algeria and Vietnam have had a long-standing and strong cooperative relationship; the Algerian people always stand side by side with the Vietnamese people.

Recently, at the 12th Session of the CPPCC, the two countries jointly implemented a cooperation roadmap in all fields, focusing on four issues: Expert groups in various fields, cooperation programs, agreements to be signed and delegation exchanges between the two sides.

Currently, Algeria has been actively investing, so Ambassador Sofiane Chaib hopes that Algeria and Vietnam will have more investment activities; together create conditions and support businesses of both sides to develop. Algeria will also promote the signing of agreements between provinces and districts of the two countries.

Agreeing with the Algerian Ambassador's opinion, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that Vietnam will focus on promoting four cooperation issues at the 12th Session of the CPPCC.

The Ministry of Construction will review, compile statistics, and evaluate the content being implemented and any problems to have timely solutions; coordinate with relevant agencies to handle difficulties, promote cooperation, and develop strong relations between the two countries.
