The US Navy is uncertain about the future direction of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier because if it withdraws this ship from the Red Sea, another ship will need to be sent to replace it.
USNI News has provided the locations of some of the US aircraft carriers currently deployed around the globe. The rest are undergoing maintenance or are preparing at home ports.

USS Ronald Reagan docked in Guam from June 19
The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower is in the Red Sea after leaving its home port in Norfolk, Virginia, on October 14, 2023. The ship has undergone two mission extensions and its return date is unknown.
The USS George Washington is currently off the coast of Chile and is en route from Norfolk, Virginia, to Japan to replace the USS Ronald Reagan, which has been deployed in the Indo-Pacific for nearly nine years.
USS Ronald Reagan arrived in Guam after completing the joint exercise called Valiant Shield 2024. The ship will then return to San Diego (California, USA).
The ships are ready to depart.
The aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman is off the coast of Norfolk.
USS Harry S. Truman is currently off Norfolk, preparing for its next assignment. The ship is expected to officially depart in October or November.
The USS Carl Vinson is in port in San Diego and is preparing to participate in the multinational naval exercise called Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) in July and then assume the responsibility of the Pacific Command.
The USS Abraham Lincoln is in San Diego and will deploy to the Pacific Command area of responsibility in July.

Ships are under maintenance and overhaul
The USS George HW Bush has been undergoing maintenance since December last year.
The USS Gerald R. Ford has just returned from a mission in the Middle East and is entering a maintenance period expected to last about a year.
USS John C. Stennis began a four-year overhaul in May 2021. The ship is expected to return to duty in 2025.
USS Nimitz has been undergoing maintenance since October 2023 and will enter the commissioning phase later this year.

PCU John F. Kennedy, the second Ford-class aircraft carrier, is set to be delivered to the US Navy next year.
