Dong Ke Market was built with 12 billion VND sponsored by Ms. Tran Thi Lam, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Lam Group (a native of Tinh Giang commune, working and living in Ho Chi Minh City).
The market started construction in March 2023 and was completed in July 2024. However, up to now, Dong Ke market, which is 1,800 square meters wide with 90 kiosks, meeting the buying and selling needs of 150 small traders, has not been able to operate.
The majestic market, with the most beautiful design in Son Tinh district, is still closed after 5 months. The traders have gone from joy to disappointment.
Traders said that the new Dong Ke market was built on the old market site. When they learned that Ms. Tran Thi Lam sponsored the construction, the traders moved to the stadium area in An Kim village, Tinh Giang commune to set up temporary tents to do business.
After two seasons of trading in the muddy, polluted temporary market, the people are still happily waiting for the new market to be completed. Everyone hopes that the kindness of the son of Tinh Giang will help make life better.
The day the market was completed and handed over to Tinh Giang commune for management and use, everyone was excited. But then the newly built market was still closed, leaving the traders disappointed. No one knew the reason, nor did they know when they would return to the old place to do business.

Not only traders, the Commune People's Committee also hopes the market will operate soon.
A trader said that after 5 months of construction, the market still cannot be opened for people to trade. As Tet is approaching, traders hope that the local government will open the market so that people can trade and stabilize their lives.
Mr. Vien, a resident of Tinh Giang commune, although not doing business at the market, is looking forward to the day the new market comes into use.
"I hope to complete all procedures so that people can benefit. Even while waiting for the procedures to be completed, we can still open the market for people to do business. The market looks so beautiful but it's a pity that people have to do business in a humid place," said Mr. Vien.
Mr. Nguyen Phuong Trieu, Chairman of Tinh Giang Commune People's Committee, said that not only traders but also the locality hopes that Dong Ke market will soon be put into operation. The biggest problem that prevents the market from being put into use is that there is no guidance on classifying markets under the authority of the commune or province.

Local responsibility, Tinh Giang Commune People's Committee sent the dossier to the district, the district also submitted it to Quang Ngai Department of Industry and Trade.
"The Department of Industry and Trade informed that it will not be until February 2025 that there will be specific instructions on market classification. Therefore, the commune also has to wait," said Mr. Trieu.
While waiting for the biggest problem to be "resolved", the People's Committee of Son Tinh district has agreed to let the People's Committee of Tinh Giang commune complete and submit the auction plan for approval by the district's Finance Department. From there, the auction organization unit of the Department of Justice will be hired to conduct the auction, bringing traders to the market to trade as soon as possible.
