VBA and efforts to develop community basketball

Mr. Tran Chu Sa - CEO of VBA presented a souvenir gift to Mr. Pham Van Phong - General Director of Phong Son Sports Company.

Recently, VBA and Phong Son Sports Company signed a cooperation agreement towards community development. This is the leading investor in grassroots sports facilities in Ho Chi Minh City with a chain of training grounds (basketball, soccer, badminton, volleyball) meeting competition standards at schools in many busy districts.

In addition to the sports center, the company also has a basketball academy that has cooperated with BGrow basketball academy (Korea) to train students aged 5-16 with advanced basketball methods from Korea and create conditions for students to participate in tournaments inside and outside the system to perfect their skills.

Mr. Tran Chu Sa - CEO of VBA shared: “From the very beginning, VBA has always aimed to develop the community, especially the next generation through many activities such as school exchanges and supporting grassroots tournaments to spread the love of basketball to students and those who are passionate about the sport.

Community basketball programs such as School Visit (conducted by VBA clubs), Dream Basketball Poles (donating basketball poles) and supporting VBA grassroots tournaments have reached thousands of students and players from many localities. At the same time, they have become anticipated activities during the season with many requests for more programs. Every year, VBA always wonders how to spread the passion to the community in a deeper, more diverse and longer-term way.

VBA has professional strengths and influence on young people, while Phong Son has strengths in its relationships with grassroots tournaments. Combining the strengths of each side, VBA and Phong Son can attract basketball lovers, communities that are unfamiliar with basketball, and fans who love professional basketball.

Looking to the future, Mr. Pham Van Phong - General Director of Phong Son Sports Company affirmed: "After 23 years of operation, we have always strived to affirm our position as a modern, multi-functional sports center, where people can exercise and develop their passion for sports. With the goal of reaching the community, the company constantly invests in modern facilities and equipment, while organizing a variety of sports activities that attract a large number of participants. We will do our best to carry out the cooperation contents well, contributing to bringing Vietnamese basketball to more success, striving to reach new heights".

According to the cooperation agreement, the two sides will develop the community on four goals, including Developing basketball to the community (raising awareness and encouraging people, especially students, to participate in the sport), training and developing a volunteer system (creating a young, dynamic, enthusiastic workforce for community projects), cooperating to develop souvenir products to promote the brand and increase revenue for both sides and the final important goal is to combine to build and implement a short-term training camp program for international students to help improve professional qualifications and bring Vietnamese basketball to the world.
