According to Ukrinform news agency, on November 18, a delegation from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense led by Deputy Minister, Brigadier General Anatolii Klochko, attended a meeting with senior NATO representatives, which took place in the Polish city of Bydgoszcz, to discuss the deployment of the Joint Analytical Training and Education Center (JATEC).
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Klochko emphasized that JATEC will help Ukraine integrate into the NATO structure, facilitate experience sharing between the two sides and contribute to finding solutions to improve the defense capabilities of both Ukraine and the transatlantic military alliance.
The sides discussed the implementation of necessary measures to establish the Center, including the approval of legal procedures to ensure Ukraine's participation in the management and decision-making processes of the new organization, and confirmed the intention to launch JATEC in early 2025.
The agenda also includes the creation of an information and communications system that would allow secure data exchange and cooperation between Ukraine and NATO.
Kiev noted that Ukraine will be the first partner with whom NATO will establish such a security system. The parties have agreed on a list of urgent initial projects that the Center will begin implementing.
JATEC is the first joint organization between Ukraine and NATO. It aims to strengthen Ukraine's defense and security capabilities by analyzing lessons learned from the ongoing war, promoting military education, and promoting interoperability between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and NATO forces.
Regarding the war, the Kremlin spokesman said on the same day that freezing the conflict in Ukraine along the front line is unacceptable to Russia.
This statement was Mr. Peskov's comment on Bloomberg 's information that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will propose at the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro to freeze the conflict in Ukraine along the current front lines.
“In this case, the conditions set by Russian President Vladimir Putin in June remain fully relevant. These are the things that need to be done to stop military operations,” Peskov pointed out.
In June, Mr. Putin outlined four conditions for negotiations with Kiev, including the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU) from Donbass and the Zaparozhye and Kherson provinces, as well as Kiev's non-entry into NATO.
According to the Russian leader, Moscow believes that it is necessary to have a neutral, non-aligned, non-nuclear status for Kiev and to lift all Western sanctions.
