Ukraine sends troops to Kharkov, Eastern front is penetrated

According to Telegarm channels monitoring the war in Ukraine, the fighting situation in Kharkov is tense.

On the northeastern front, over the past four days, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have attempted a counterattack in the town of Volchansk targeting areas north of the Vovcha River in order to slow down the Russian advance.

This can be considered a gray area of ​​the front, when the Russian army is uncertain at the front line, while Ukraine is trying to regain lost areas. The front line in Volchansk is located along the Horkoho, Hoholia and Olesia Dosvitnoho roads.

On the evening of May 23, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army said that at least 88 clashes had occurred on the front in just one day in the Kharkov region, nearly half of which took place in the direction of Kupyansk and Pokrovskoye.

On the Kharkov front, the Russian Army actively used air power to attack and leave the enemy with no place to hide with superior firepower.

Meanwhile, as the AFU forces were withdrawn and transferred to Kharkov, weaknesses on the entire Eastern Front were exposed and fully exploited by the Russian side. At Staromayorsky, the assault groups of the Russian 394th Regiment used a new tactic of using motorcycles to make high-speed lightning raids into fortified Ukrainian areas to attack by surprise. And this tactic worked.

In the direction of Vremevsky, at the administrative border of Zaporizhia and Donetsk, soldiers of the 127th Division of the Eastern Military District are pursuing the remnants of the AFU in Bochka. All attacks are being carried out with active artillery support.

“Russian troops are actively attacking Staromayorskoe. Footage has appeared confirming their success, assault forces are breaking through to the north of the village. They are using both combat vehicles and motorcycles. Fighting is taking place in the ruins of houses,” Ukrainian military analysts assessed.

On the morning of May 24, AFU also carried out a missile attack on the Crimean Peninsula.

According to information from the Governor of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, the consequences of the missile attack on the city of Simferopol left two people dead.

The Crimean regional leader also reported an attack on Alushta, where a missile hit an empty commercial building. Rescuers from the Russian Emergencies Ministry cordoned off the area and cleared debris and submunitions from the missile attack. Sergei Aksenov urged local residents to remain calm and trust only official sources of information.

The Deputy Chairman of the Crimean Regional Duma, Major General-in-Reserve Leonid Ivlev, stated that the AFU attack on civilian facilities on the peninsula was by fascists.

According to information from the Russian Ministry of Defense, the air defense system shot down five ATACMS tactical missiles launched by the AFU into Crimea. The Crimean peninsula has been continuously attacked in recent times.

“We all know that the Americans have supplied long-range missiles with a range of 300 km. So everything is as expected for us. Of course, at the same time, we believe that the defense capabilities of Crimea are at a high level,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Deputy Chairman of the Sevastopol Regional Duma Dmitry Belik called Ukraine's attempt to attack Crimea a manifestation of helplessness.

According to him, Kiev is taking advantage of every opportunity to “carry out some dirty tricks against Russia”. For this reason, the Ukrainian military began using ATACMS immediately after receiving it. He believes that attempts to attack the peninsula have little practical significance but are more of a propaganda purpose for Kiev to “show the scale of all the support from the West”.
