A video posted by Ukrainian special forces showed airstrikes on several pontoon bridges in the Kursk region, where Russia had earlier reported that Ukraine had destroyed at least three major bridges over the Seym River in an attempt to cut off Moscow's supply lines.

Mykola Bielieskov, an expert at the Ukrainian Institute for National Strategic Studies, a Kiev-based think tank, said the attacks on the bridges and pontoons would help Ukraine build up its defenses along the river.
The video also shows drone attacks on military trucks and other locations described as Russian ammunition depots and an electronic warfare complex in the Kursk region.
Ukraine's statement said the US-made HIMARS missile system was used as part of an operation to disrupt Russian logistics in Kursk, the first official statement from Kiev acknowledging the use of the weapon in the incursion.
The United States and its allies have said they would ban Ukraine from launching long-range strikes with Western weapons inside Russian territory, but allowed Kiev to use them to attack border areas after Russia's attack on Kharkiv earlier this year.

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said it had gained more territorial control in the Kursk region than Moscow had achieved in Ukraine this year. Russia called the attack on its border an escalation of the war.
Currently, in addition to the new fighting in the Kursk region that began on August 6, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is still raging on many other fronts. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russia has occupied the settlement of Zhelanne, near the transport hub of Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine.
In addition, both sides reported major drone attacks on each other’s territory. Ukraine said it had intercepted 50 of the 69 UAVs launched by Russia. Meanwhile, Moscow said its air defenses had destroyed 45 Kiev UAVs on Russian territory, including 11 over the capital.
