According to the Ukrainian Telegram channel "Resident", the Kiev army suffered heavy losses in the operation in Russia's Kursk province with about 30,000 casualties, including 11,000 killed.

Ukraine also suffered major losses of military equipment worth more than $10 billion provided by the West. The Pentagon immediately warned that Kiev would not receive similar amounts of aid, and the thin deployment of troops also weakened the defense line in Donbass.

In addition, the Ukrainian Air Force announced on November 6 that its air defense units had destroyed 38 Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) overnight. Another 22 Russian UAVs were also intercepted by Kiev's electronic warfare system.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Moscow launched two missiles into the Odessa region on the night of November 5.

Previously, on November 5, the Sverdlovsk regional court of Russia sentenced engineer Danil Mukhametov, who worked at a tank factory, to 16 years in prison for treason for leaking military secrets to Kiev.

According to the court, Mr. Mukhametov partially admitted his guilt after being accused of passing military-technical information to Ukrainian intelligence services.

Mukhametov's wife was also sentenced to 12.5 years in prison in October 2024, after selling tank blueprints to Ukrainian officials for 100,000 rubles, equivalent to more than $1,000.

The Mukhametovs were arrested by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) in March 2023.

The Uralvagonzavod plant is located in the city of Nizhny Tagil, about 1,400 km east of Moscow, with the task of producing T-90M battle tanks and modernizing T-72B3M tanks.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry , this place plays an important role in supplying tanks for special military operations in Ukraine.
