Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee holds economic press conference

On the morning of October 24, the People's Committee of Dak Nong province held a press conference on the socio-economic situation in the first 9 months of 2024; deploying key tasks and solutions for the last months of the year. The collective leadership of the People's Committee of Dak Nong province chaired the press conference.

At the press conference, representatives of press agencies raised 17 questions related to the socio-economic fields of Dak Nong. The questions focused on a number of issues such as: disbursement of capital for some investment packages; response to landslide incidents in traffic projects; progress in issuing guidelines for implementing the 2024 Land Law.

Regarding the handling of landslides on National Highway 14 through Quang Tin Commune, Dak Rlap District, Director of the Department of Transport Nguyen Nhan Ban informed that after the landslide occurred, the Department of Transport coordinated with relevant agencies and investors to inspect the scene. The unit consulted documents for the Provincial People's Committee to direct and review the entire landslide situation.

“To ensure safety, the Department of Transport and Communications has coordinated with the Dak R'lap District People's Committee to implement solutions to reduce the load and limit landslides. Dak R'lap District has reviewed and coordinated to handle violations related to violations on the above section of the route,” Mr. Ban informed.

Regarding the issue of the Department of Education and Training revoking more than 1,200 certificates of students studying at the Dak Nong Province Continuing Education Center, Director of the Department of Education and Training Phan Thanh Hai affirmed that the error and responsibility for this revocation belongs to the Department of Education and Training.

“Currently, we have reissued about 750 certificates to students whose certificates were previously revoked. The Department has held a review meeting and learned from this experience. The rights of students will not change,” Mr. Hai shared.

Concluding the press conference, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi emphasized that the issues of interest to the press are current issues that the Dak Nong provincial leaders are addressing. These include the promulgation of the Land Law, difficulties with bauxite, and handling of landslides in projects and works affected by natural disasters.

First of all, regarding the issuance of guidelines for the implementation of the Land Law, Dak Nong has been slow. The province wants to complete it before issuing and implementing it. However, up to now, with the efforts of all levels, sectors, and the Provincial People's Committee, Dak Nong has risen to the top of the country. This will be an opportunity for Dak Nong people and businesses to remove many barriers related to the land sector to develop the economy.

Regarding the issue of teacher shortage in the education and training sector, Dak Nong hopes that the press will reflect more strongly to contribute its voice to the Central Government to help the province. Difficult schools, examples of teachers and students overcoming difficulties need to be reported more by the press.

Regarding the bauxite issue, it must be said that Dak Nong is very determined and resolute. Proof of that is that the Central Government has paid great attention and is gradually solving the problem for the province.

“There are still many difficulties, Dak Nong hopes that the press agencies will contribute ideas, accompany, grasp the current situation to speak up for the locality with the Central Government. Thereby, the Central ministries and branches will share and soon resolve the problems for the province to develop”, Chairman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi hopes.

In the first 9 months of the year, GRDP growth increased by 5.21%. Industrial production index increased by 3.99% over the same period last year. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue reached 19,320 billion VND, reaching 82% of the plan. Export turnover reached over 702 million USD, up 0.3% over the same period, reaching 69.43% of the plan. Budget revenue was 2,237 billion VND, reaching 68% of the estimate. Disbursement of public investment capital was 1,286 billion VND, reaching 36.4% of the plan.
