On the evening of June 3, at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho), the Vietnam U20 women's team defeated Iran U20 women's team 3-2 in the 2nd qualifying round of the 2024 AFC U20 Women's Championship.
With home advantage and being rated higher, the U20 women's team of Vietnam took the initiative and created many dangerous opportunities against the U20 women of Iran. However, the U20 women of Iran was the team that opened the score first. In the 9th minute, Nhu Quynh scored an own goal to help the U20 women of Iran take the lead. Just 1 minute later, the U20 women of Vietnam scored the equalizer. From a beautiful coordination between Ngoc Minh Chuyen and Hoang Van, player Ngoc Anh quickly equalized for the U20 women of Vietnam.

Attacking more, U20 women's Vietnam was rewarded. In the 35th minute, Thanh Thao executed an extremely dangerous free kick, creating an opportunity for Ngoc Minh Chuyen to raise the score to 2-1 for U20 women's Vietnam.
In the second half, the U20 women's team of Vietnam actively attacked and created more dangerous opportunities. In the 63rd minute, Le Thi Trang scored a beautiful goal after Ngoc Minh Chuyen's pass to raise the score to 3-1. In the 88th minute, a player in red touched the ball with his hand in the penalty area. The U20 Iran team was awarded a penalty and they successfully executed it, setting the score at 2-3.
By defeating Iran's U20 women's team 3-2, the Vietnam U20 women's team had a smooth start in the second qualifying round of the 2024 AFC U20 Women's Championship.
