Foreign exchange rates on January 17: USD prices fluctuate at banks

DNVN - The exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong (VND) and the US Dollar (USD) on January 17 recorded mixed trends at commercial banks, while the Chinese Yuan (CNY) exchange rate continued to decrease.

Foreign exchange prices on January 15, 2025: USD weakens

The State Bank of Vietnam announced today's central exchange rate increased by 8 VND compared to January 16, to 24,341 VND/USD. Within the +/-5% band, the ceiling exchange rate is currently 25,558 VND/USD, while the floor rate is 23,124 VND/USD. The reference exchange rate at the State Bank's Exchange remains the listed rate of 23,400 VND/USD for buying and 25,450 VND/USD for selling.

At 8:27 a.m., Vietcombank adjusted the USD exchange rate to 25,198 VND/USD for buying and 25,558 VND/USD for selling, up 9 VND compared to the previous morning. Meanwhile, at BIDV, the USD exchange rate decreased by 9 VND, bringing the listed rate down to 25,180 VND/USD for buying and 25,540 VND/USD for selling.

Regarding the CNY exchange rate, Vietcombank listed it at 3,405 VND/CNY for buying and 3,514 VND/CNY for selling, down 3 VND compared to January 17. At BIDV, the CNY buying price decreased by 1 VND, while the selling price decreased by 2 VND, currently at 3,422 VND/CNY for buying and 3,526 VND/CNY for selling.
