This afternoon, Nguyen Tat Thanh University held the opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 school year for 4,000 new students.

Present at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong noted: "Starting as a vocational training center established in 1999, with the goal of training workers for the garment industry, the first course only enrolled 2 majors with 200 students, but today, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has developed into a multi-disciplinary, multi-level university, training 30,000 students, undergraduate, master, and doctoral students. Each year, the school provides the labor market with about 5,000 bachelors, pharmacists, engineers, etc., contributing to the high-quality human resources for Ho Chi Minh City."

"University education not only trains the elite but also spreads knowledge to the community, demonstrating social responsibility to the community. In addition to high-level training programs, there must be free or low-fee mass training programs. In the world, at the most prestigious universities such as Harvard, Stanford, MIT, this spirit has been spread, creating a university ecosystem with great community responsibility. Nguyen Tat Thanh University needs to reach that spirit," Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong advised.

At the opening ceremony, Nguyen Tat Thanh University awarded scholarships to the top students of the entire school with a scholarship value of 100% of the first year's tuition and 100% of the following years' tuition if they achieve a learning result of 3.2/4 or higher. The top students of the majors also received a 100% scholarship for the first year's tuition.

On this occasion, the school was also awarded a certificate of educational quality accreditation for five majors: preventive medicine, vocal music, interior design, environmental resource management and Oriental studies, bringing the total number of training programs meeting national and regional quality standards of the school to 29.
