
Attending the funeral and burial ceremony were leaders of the National Steering Committee 515, Military Region II; representatives of the Association of Vietnamese people residing in Oudomxay province, Lao PDR. On the Dien Bien province side, there were comrade Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, sectors, and mass organizations of the province, along with a large number of cadres, soldiers, and people in the area.


In the solemn moment, on behalf of the leaders of Dien Bien province, comrade Vu A Bang expressed his infinite condolences, remembering the great contributions and heroic sacrifices of the martyrs who devoted their lives to the Fatherland and the noble international mission. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also expressed his sincere and deep gratitude to the Party, State and people of Lao ethnic groups for their best feelings, considering the Vietnamese volunteer army as their own children, protecting, supporting, standing shoulder to shoulder to overcome all difficulties and hardships, fighting and winning together. He emphasized that in the coming time, the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of all ethnic groups in Dien Bien province are willing to raise high the flag of national independence and socialism, promote the international spirit, and constantly consolidate and foster the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos. At the same time, well implement the military policy, military rear, the movement "Drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude", worthy of the heroic tradition of Dien Bien Phu.

After the memorial service, the remains of the three martyrs were buried at Tong Khao Martyrs Cemetery, Thanh Nua Commune, Dien Bien District. The remains of the three martyrs who were memorialized and buried this time were not yet identified, as the Martyrs' Grave Collection Team of Military Region 2 searched and collected them during the dry season of 2023-2024 and handed them over to Dien Bien Province.

Previously, on December 18, Dien Bien province held a ceremony to receive the remains of 11 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who died in Laos, which were searched and collected by the Military Region 2 Martyrs' Grave Collection Team. Of these, 8 sets of remains were handed over to Lang Son, Son La, Phu Tho, Yen Bai, Hoa Binh, Bac Giang and Ha Nam provinces.
