Tesla International School applies the International Baccalaureate (IB) Integrated Program for students aged 3-18 to help them increase their advantage when applying to world universities.
Tesla International School has passed many strict requirements and is recognized and authorized directly by the IB Organization to teach the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). For the remaining two programmes at the Secondary School (MYP) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (DP), the school is a candidate to teach.
The school representative shared that the unit strives to teach this program because possessing an IB diploma is a factor that is highly valued in applications to top universities in the US, UK, Australia, Canada..., especially in the Ivy League. IB has built a reputation in international education thanks to its multidimensional, comprehensive and challenging educational philosophy.
Tesla builds an integrated International Baccalaureate (IB) program from 3 to 18 years old to help students accumulate knowledge and skills from the first days of accessing education. From Kindergarten to Grade 5, children begin to form feelings about school. Therefore, Tesla cooperates with parents to foster good qualities and a love of learning in children.
"For us, students need to be stimulated to love and be passionate about learning instead of becoming 'study machines'. The focus of the PYP program is to nurture good qualities and values in each child," the school representative affirmed.

For students aged 12 to 16, Tesla applies the MYP program. This is the core stage for the intellectual and personality development of each student. This program framework encourages students to become global citizens who are knowledgeable, responsible and proactive in their studies and life. At the same time, the school aims to nurture critical thinking; encourage students to collaborate with others through learning activities, extracurricular programs and talent development.
Finally, the DP program lasts for two years with a high level of difficulty for the "sprint" stage of grades 11 and 12. This is also a high school graduation diploma that is highly appreciated by many universities around the world. Students who complete this diploma will be welcomed by more than 2,500 universities in 75 countries around the world with many valuable scholarships.

In addition, the IB program also encourages students to be themselves, instead of being forced into a certain mold. Thanks to that, students also learn how to appreciate the differences of others.
Sandy Lee (former Tesla student, King's College London student) studied the traditional education program in Taiwan. The female student shared that when switching to IB, she enjoyed being exposed to open-ended questions, instead of memorizing knowledge and answers in books like before. At first, she was a bit confused and did not dare to give her answer for fear of being wrong. However, thanks to the support of IB teachers, Sandy was able to confidently express her opinions and argue with her thinking.
Tesla alumni say that without learning how to write essays beforehand, it’s difficult to get used to writing 3,000-word essays in college. Meanwhile, students in the IB program are already prepared in grades 11 and 12.
"The transition from one level to another was no longer a shock to me and my classmates. On the contrary, we did it very smoothly," Sandy added.
Kha Tu (former Tesla student, international student at the University of British Columbia) also shared that the IB Integrated Program is more difficult and demanding than some other similar international programs. However, when studying, students will have a clear and strict roadmap, thereby developing evenly and consistently from the "beginning" years, avoiding focusing only on the final years.
"With a rigorous program in terms of knowledge transmission and acquisition, possessing an IB certificate will increase the chances of being admitted to the best universities in the US. That is also the reason why the world IB community currently has more than two million students from 159 countries," Kha Tu added.
