During the questioning of the defendants in the trial on the morning of March 7, the presiding judge asked defendant Truong Hue Van.

Truong Hue Van (36 years old) is the niece of the defendant Truong My Lan. Truong Hue Van is the General Director of Windsor Real Estate Management Group and also the General Director and legal representative of Van Thinh Phat Group Investment Joint Stock Company.

As for Van Thinh Phat Group, Ms. Truong My Lan and her two children own 80% of the shares, the remaining 20% ​​belongs to Emerald Joint Stock Company, represented by Truong Hue Van.

In court, Truong Hue Van admitted that the Supreme People's Procuracy's indictment against the defendant was correct in terms of the person and the crime.

The indictment prosecuted defendant Truong Hue Van for the crime of "Embezzlement of property" under Clause 4, Article 353 of the 2015 Penal Code, amended and supplemented in 2017.

And in the end, Truong Hue Van was trusted by Ms. Truong My Lan and assigned to be the General Director of Van Thinh Phat Group and to manage and operate many other companies of this group.

Since 2020, Ms. Truong My Lan directed defendant Truong Hue Van to establish 52 "ghost" companies and then coordinated with leaders and employees of SCB Bank to create loan documents in violation of regulations.

Through that, Truong Hue Van and his accomplices created 155 fake loans to withdraw money from SCB Bank.

The prosecution agency determined that Truong Hue Van's actions effectively assisted Ms. Truong My Lan in appropriating more than VND 1,088 billion from SCB Bank, causing a loss of VND 25 billion in interest debt.

In court today, Truong Hue Van testified that she is a niece, raised by Ms. Truong My Lan since she was little, so she calls Ms. Lan "mother".

“The defendant was raised and educated by her, then allowed to work at the corporation. The defendant always had absolute trust in her. The defendant believed in her vision, so he believed in and listened to everything she said, did what she told him, and did not dare to argue back,” defendant Truong Hue Van said at the trial.

The judge also asked, besides the salary and bonus, did the defendant receive any other share? Truong Hue Van affirmed that she did not receive any share. Because the defendant was raised by defendant Truong My Lan since she was a child, she gave her money on holidays and Tet like other family members.

The judge also asked the defendant if he remembered whether any property was confiscated or seized when the incident occurred. Truong Hue Van said, "I don't remember."

The indictment mentioned that during the investigation, cash, real estate, and assets of the defendants were seized; including assets under the name of Truong Hue Van.

Regarding the consequences, the court recorded that Truong Hue Van had paid back more than 1 billion VND and 3,000 USD.
