When the flood water on the Red River rose, causing some areas in Hanoi to be deeply submerged in water, forcing people to evacuate to safe areas. At this time, many schools in Hanoi coordinated with local authorities to open their gates to welcome people to evacuate.
According to Tuoi Tre Online, in Phuc Tan ward, Hoan Kiem district, although Phuc Tan Primary School is located in an area where floodwaters have covered the entire area, and the road leading to the school is waist-deep in some places, the school still prepares classrooms on the second floor to welcome people from flooded areas to evacuate.
As the first person to evacuate the school, Ms. Bui Bich Son, 70 years old, said she is from Quang Ninh, but in the past few days she went to Hanoi to visit her younger brother's family in Phuc Tan ward during storm number 3, so she got stuck in Hanoi.

At 10am on September 11, the Red River water rose so high that the first floor of the house was flooded above the knees. Mrs. Son was put on a boat by her grandchildren and pushed to evacuate to ensure safety.
"I found the staff at the school very enthusiastic. When I arrived at noon, the staff took me to the school kitchen for lunch and told me that if I was hungry, I could go to the kitchen to cook more instant noodles. After lunch, they also brought me candy and fruit to eat.
"At a difficult time like this, receiving even a little attention is such a blessing. That is human love in the flood," said Ms. Son.

In Bac Tu Liem district, since the afternoon of September 10, Thuy Phuong Primary School has rearranged the gym, prepared blankets and mats, and prepared conditions to welcome about 100 people from flood-affected areas to evacuate.
On the evening of September 11, after school, teachers in the school joined hands to cook rice to give to people, including the elderly and children who came to take shelter at the school, hoping that they would have a good meal and be healthy.

Similarly, at Duc Thang Secondary School (Bac Tu Liem District), the school has arranged a separate boarding area on the 4th floor as temporary accommodation for about 150 people. Notably, all rooms have air conditioning, bunk beds, blankets, mosquito nets and toilets.

Dong Ngac A Primary School (Bac Tu Liem District) also organized a "warm common roof during the storm", accordingly the school prepared a gym and four classrooms fully equipped with drinking water, food such as instant noodles, dry food, milk, cakes and other necessities to welcome people to evacuate to avoid the flood.
Thuong Cat Secondary School (Bac Tu Liem District) informed that since yesterday, the school has reserved a library and a boarding room with a capacity of about 200 people, ready to welcome people to take shelter. In addition, the school has also prepared rice, water, and instant noodles. Teachers and school staff also organized cooking for the people staying there.
Previously, the Department of Education and Training of Bac Tu Liem district directed schools in the area to prepare human resources, facilities, supplies, drinking water and essential food, and be ready to welcome households to take shelter at schools when localities evacuate people, ensuring safety.
