The most successful school in Nghe An received the Second Class Independence Medal

Ms. Cao Thi Lan Thanh, Principal of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, said that in the 1965-1966 school year, the first specialized math classes were established; in the 1969-1970 school year, additional specialized literature classes were established; this was the foundation for Nghe An province to decide to establish a specialized high school.

On October 15, 1974, Nghe An province announced the decision to establish the Gifted High School on the basis of merging the specialized high school classes specializing in literature and mathematics studying at Do Luong II High School and Thanh Chuong I High School, the predecessor of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

Over the past 60 years of establishment, the scale of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted has continuously expanded; discovered, trained, and nurtured generations of outstanding talents and especially made the school named after patriot Phan Boi Chau famous, further fostering the tradition of studiousness of the homeland of Nghe An.

From the 2014-2015 school year to the 2023-2024 school year, the school has had 42 students participating in regional and international competitions, including 9 Gold Medals and 1 First Prize in the International Russian Language Olympiad Essay Writing Competition; 14 Silver Medals, 8 Bronze Medals and nearly 900 National Excellent Students.

There are thousands of students who are excellent students in the province, hundreds of valedictorians and salutatorians who achieved high scores in the high school graduation exam and university entrance exam, and were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee.

Mr. Bui Dinh Long, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, praised and highly appreciated the efforts and great contributions to the homeland and country of teachers and students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

The Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee hopes that the 50-year tradition of specialized schools and 60-year specialized system will be a solid foundation to help generations of teachers and students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted look to the future; continue to strive to build the school stronger and stronger, maintain the leading position of the Education and Training sector of the province and the whole country; continue to reap many achievements, worthy of being a heroic, strong, advanced and modern school in the homeland of Nghe An.

In recognition of the contributions and outstanding achievements of generations of teachers, staff and students, the Party and State have awarded many noble prizes.

In particular, in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the school's founding and the 60th anniversary of the specialized system, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted was honored to receive the Second Class Independence Medal.

The school has been awarded many noble awards, such as: Third-class Labor Medal (1994); Second-class Labor Medal (1999, 2023); First-class Labor Medal (2004); Third-class Independence Medal (2009); Labor Hero title (2013) and was honored twice in the Vietnam Glory program (2007, 2013)...
