On the evening of January 12, Hanoi National University of Education held a launching ceremony for the Fund to support students in disadvantaged areas.
The starting point of the fundraising activity was the launch of the book Sharing Words by Professor Nguyen Van Minh, Rector of Hanoi National University of Education. The book was printed and published by the Hanoi National University of Education Publishing House for the first time on November 20, 2023, and has been reprinted many times to date.
This is a book that collects inspirational articles written by Professor Nguyen Van Minh during his time as Principal of Hanoi National University of Education (from 2012 to present). Many of these articles have been widely spread on social networks and received by many students and colleagues across the country.
Professor Nguyen Van Minh, Principal of Hanoi National University of Education, received contributions from organizations and individuals for the Fund to support students in disadvantaged areas.
Right at the launching event, many groups and individuals showed their support for the fund. The total amount of money raised was about more than 1.4 billion VND.
It is known that Professor Nguyen Van Minh personally not only donated all royalties from the book in the first edition (more than 31 million VND), but also contributed a large amount of money to the fund (hundreds of millions of VND). The University of Education Publishing House also pledged to donate all profits from the book to the fund.
According to Professor Nguyen Van Minh, from the actual circumstances of many students in remote areas with difficult circumstances, the fund was established to carry out activities to encourage learning, encourage talents, sponsor scholarships, and award prizes to encourage and motivate students to overcome difficulties and promote their own abilities in studying and training.
The Fund receives and manages financial resources sponsored, supported, and donated by agencies, units, organizations, businesses, philanthropists, and former students to carry out activities in accordance with the Fund's principles, purposes, and regulations of law.
"The country is changing, there have been many policies for disadvantaged areas. The policies are implemented widely, but there are also individual cases. And we hope that these fates will not be forgotten or alone.
This fund will be for students who excel in their studies and self-cultivation; for students in disadvantaged areas who do not have to drop out of school, especially students who want to become teachers," Professor Nguyen Van Minh shared.
Professor Nguyen Van Minh also affirmed, Hanoi National University of Education commits to ensuring publicity and transparency in the management and use of funds; ensuring fairness and democracy in considering and selecting students to receive support.
