Nha Trang University has just appointed 7 qualified officials to the titles of professor and associate professor in 2023.
Along with the appointment, the school decided to reward 7 qualified officials. Of which, 1 professor received a bonus of 50 million VND and 6 associate professors received a bonus of 30 million VND each. In addition, these officials also received salary increases and additional income according to regulations.
Officials who meet the standards for the title of professor or associate professor will be awarded 30-50 million VND/person by Nha Trang University.
According to the school representative, the policy of rewarding candidates who meet the standards of professor and associate professor has been applied for many years, aiming to motivate and encourage staff and workers, thereby continuously improving the quality of the school's staff.
In addition, Nha Trang University is applying a bonus policy for officials and employees who have scientific publications in prestigious international journals. Accordingly, the bonus of 40 million VND applies to articles published in journals with SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI indexes and in the Q1 journal list; 30 million VND for articles published in journals with SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI indexes and in the Q2 journal list or published in journals with ESCI indexes in Q1; 20 million VND for journals with SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI indexes and in the Q3 journal list or published in journals with ESCI indexes in Q2; 10 million VND for journals in the SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI, ESCI, SCOPUS system that do not fall into the above 3 cases.
Notably, if professors and associate professors register for a strong research group, there will be a level of financial support with specific output requirements. Accordingly, the maximum support level for the first year is 300 million VND, the second year is 300 million VND and the third year is 200 million VND. Output requirements are calculated as articles published in prestigious scientific journals, practical and outstanding products such as monographs, intellectual property, etc.
Currently, many other universities also apply preferential policies for officials with achievements in scientific research. For example, Ton Duc Thang University has a policy to attract domestic and foreign experts and scientists to work at the school and lecturers are paid up to 360 million VND for 1 scientific publication.
Since 2017, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics has announced a reward of up to 200 million VND for articles published in scientific journals in the ISI or Scopus database with an IF index greater than 2.
The International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University) also stipulated that lecturers with the professorial level must have 2 international articles/year; associate professors 1.5 articles/year; PhDs 1 article/year and masters 1 article/2 years. Lecturers whose scientific publications exceed the regulations are rewarded with 1,500 USD/international ISI article (more than 30 million VND)...
